Max Scherzer
The Mets rank tied for 22nd in wRC+ (88) against right-handed pitchers this year and have tallied an 18.5% strikeout rate. No doubt, this is a favorable matchup for Scherzer. The former Tiger has been brilliant in his first four starts with the Nationals. He's totaled 28.2 innings with a 1.69 FIP, 25.7% strikeout rate and 3.5% walk rate. He won't continue to allow zero homers, but even his 3.37 xFIP (which normalizes home run rate) is impressed with Scherzer's work.
