In this segment, I'll be breaking down players who are seeing a significant increase or decrease in minutes due to new (or overlooked) circumstances. I'll also be looking at how injuries and/or trades have affected these players. Each player's situation is unique, and I'll help you find the matchups and scenarios to exploit or avoid due to each player's change in court time. Each player will have be tagged with “TARGET", “MONITOR", or “AVOID". For today's article, I'll be focusing on DraftKings scoring.

Kemba Walker – (PG) Charlotte Hornets - MONITOR

Kemba's return is a welcome sight for Hornets fans, but his new role is yet to be defined. Mo Williams continues to be the starter, and Walker has really struggled from the field, hitting just 7 of 31 shots from the field in three games since his return. His minutes are still too low to warrant consideration in DFS outside of a GPP (16, 28, 25). Kemba was a minutes and usage monster before his injury, and now that Mo Williams is in the mix, it seems he will be eased into game shape. However, as his minutes increase and he regains his confidence, he and Williams will become a formidable backcourt duo. Keep an eye on him moving forward as he settles into his new role.

Alexey Shved – (PG) New York Knicks - TARGET

Shvedsanity has taken over the DFS world, and now is the time to jump aboard. The Knicks are an absolute mess, but Shved has been the bright spot over the past few weeks. He is averaging 30 MPG over his last 6 games, and more importantly, he is averaging 1.13 FP/MIN. Not only is he seeing increasing time on the court, but he is producing in every category. His price is up to $6200 on DraftKings, and has been catching up to his recent production, so now is the time to take advantage before he is priced too highly.

Marvin Williams – (PF) Charlotte Hornets – MONITOR

Cody Zeller's injury has left him with no specific timetable to return, as coach Steve Clifford has indicated that his shoulder “isn't responding well to treatment". He is currently listed as “Doubtful" for tonight, but it seems very unlikely that he goes. For that reason, Williams continues to pick up big minutes at the PF spot for the Hornets. In the first two games Zeller missed, Williams played a total of 71 minutes and totaled 55 FP. While he isn't a great FP/MIN player, he is effective as a cash game play when he sees big minutes. His price of just $4600 on DraftKings is more than fair for a player in his spot.

Zaza Pachulia – (C) Milwaukee Bucks – TARGET (GPP)

Zaza has been playing some of his best basketball of the season over the past 3 games, where he is averaging 1.1 FP/MIN in 85 minutes of court time. His minutes are generally unpredictable, which leaves him reserved as a GPP-only play, but his recent production has put him on the map. He draws a very tough matchup against the Pelicans tonight, but at just $4000 on DraftKings, he still possesses some upside for a tournament. He is averaging 20.8 FPPG this season, and makes for an interesting punt in your GPPs.

Spencer Hawes – (C) Los Angeles Clippers – AVOID

With Blake Griffin back in the fold, Hawes' relevancy in DFS has moved from little to none. Over his last 5 games (including Griffin's return), Hawes is averaging 11 FPPG, compared to 23.8 FPPG in his previous 5 contests. His value was already diminishing, and now that Griffin is back to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup, Hawes can be easily avoided in all formats.
