NBA Market Advantage: Fri, April 3

This Market Advantage column aims to discover players whose respective salaries are too low considering their expected production. This can obviously change from site-to-site, so I will outline the respective site featured that particular player's discount. The sites featured in today's column are FanDuel and DraftKings.

However, just because a player is well-priced, it doesn't mean you should automatically click them into a lineup. Due to this, a label will be attached to every player (red/yellow/green light) assessing their viability for tonight's game.

So with that, here are the most favorably priced players in the Daily Fantasy Market for Friday, April 3^rd:

POINT GUARD

Damian Lillard – POR: (DraftKings $7,700) YELLOW LIGHT

Friendlier price point on DK, as he's sitting at $8,400 on FanDuel. The matchup vs LA Lakers looks great on paper; however, I'm not sure how much Portland will need Dame tonight. That, plus blowout factor and opportunity cost has me reserving Lillard more for tournaments.

Jordan Clarkson – LAL: (DraftKings $6,400) GREEN LIGHT

Has been assuming a much larger role for the Lakers, and with Jeremy Lin battling an illness, I expect that to continue. FanDuel has properly adjusted for his recent production, but DK has not.

Mike Conley – MEM: (DraftKings $6,100) (FanDuel $5,900) GREEN LIGHT

I would target him more as a cash game option on FanDuel, where he's cheaper and guys like Clarkson are priced up. Conley doesn't have substantial upside, but an up-tempo matchup vs the offensive-minded Russell Westbrook should be good enough to sustain value.

Greivis Vasquez – TOR: (FanDuel $4,100) GREEN LIGHT

Kyle Lowry is doubtful, meaning Vasquez will assume starting PG duties once again. He hasn't been a great FP/min producer, but I like him as a solid, cheap filler on FanDuel to give you a reliable 20 FP.

John Wall – WAS: (DraftKings $9,000) YELLOW LIGHT

He's $700 cheaper on DraftKings, but that's information to keep in your back pocket rather than utilize tonight. With a 15 point spread looming over this game, I'm not risking Wall in any lineups.

SHOOTING GUARD

Victor Oladipo – ORL: (DraftKings $7,500) GREEN LIGHT

Great discount over on DraftKings, sitting $700 less than FanDuel. Awesome matchup vs the hapless Wolves tonight. I like him on FD as well, but note the discount on DraftKings.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – DET: (FanDuel $4,900) GREEN LIGHT

KCP was absolutely brutal last game, but I would ignore it for all intents and purposes. He ran into foul trouble, then the blowout occurred. I'm not expecting that to be the case tonight, as Pope should be back around 36+ minutes with a higher usage rate as Greg Monroe remains sidelined.

Joe Johnson – BKN: (DraftKings $6,100) (FanDuel $5,900) GREEN LIGHT

I'm looking at Johnson more for tournament lineups, but he's still discounted despite a recent surge in production. There aren't many inspiring mid-range/value SG plays either.

Brad Beal – WAS: (DraftKings $6,000) (FanDuel $5,800) YELLOW LIGHT

Beal is essentially in the same boat as Johnson. He's a tournament only play, as the matchup is great, but the blowout factor is substantial.

SMALL FORWARD

Tobias Harris – ORL: (DraftKings $6400), (FanDuel $6400) GREEN LIGHT

Harris' price tag is depressed due to a 17 minute performance against Houston. Don't hold that against him though, as he should be a safe pick against the generous Minnesota defense.

Omri Casspi – SAC: (DraftKings $4000), (FanDuel $4000) GREEN LIGHT

Casspi makes for one of the better value plays tonight, sliding into a starting role for Rudy Gay. He played 38 minutes last game, and I'm expecting 35+ again tonight.

POWER FORWARD

Anthony Davis – NO: (DraftKings $11400) GREEN LIGHT

I'll be targeting him on both DraftKings and FanDuel, but note the $800 discount on DK. He has a great matchup at Sacramento in this “must-win" situation.

Ersan Ilyasova – MIL: (FanDuel $5,800) GREEN LIGHT

Really like him over on FanDuel, where he's discounted, and you are required to roster two PF's. I'll likely shy away on DK at $6500.

Kenneth Faried – DEN: (FanDuel $6,500) YELLOW LIGHT

I like the price tag on FanDuel, but general inconsistencies, a tough matchup, plus the blowout factor has me looking elsewhere.

Thad Young – BKN: (FanDuel $5,900) (DraftKings $5,700) YELLOW LIGHT

Not a high upside guy, but Thad's price point isn't fully adjusted for his 35 minute complement moving forward. I don't think he'll put up an FP performance that hurts you.

Marvin Williams – CHA: (FanDuel $4,800) YELLOW LIGHT

Slightly better tag on FanDuel, and Williams will see 30-35 minutes once again with Kidd-Gilchrist and Zeller out. The matchup is tough, leaving me gravitating towards other, safer value options at different positions.

CENTER

DeMarcus Cousins – SAC: (DraftKings $10000) GREEN LIGHT

HIS PRICE TAG IS SO GOOD ON DK THAT I'M TYPING IN ALL CAPS EVEN THOUGH I DESPISE IT! Seriously, a $1900 discount from FD to DK…I've never seen anything like it. I'll have him in majority of my DK lineups.

Nikola Vucevic – ORL: (DraftKings $7,600) GREEN LIGHT

Great relative value industry wide in a favorable draw at Minnesota. I'll specifically point out his friendly price point on DK, sitting $600 below his FD salary.
