Top Picks
Ricky Rubio (PG), Timberwolves
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
Suns | 32 | 1.04 | 27.0 | 19.8 | 55.2 | 112 | 33.28 |
Salary: FD: $7,300 DK: $6,900
Ricky Rubio has just been on a tear as of late averaging 15-4-9 over his last ten games. Tonight, he will be going up against the Suns, which provides him with an excellent matchup. Not only have they allow an average of 107.6 PPG (29th in NBA), but they have also given up the most fantasy points to opposing point guards on the year. There are a lot of intriguing point guards on tonight's slate, but Rubio is my guy. He is averaging 38.9 fantasy points over his last ten games and should hit value with ease.
C.J McCollum (SG), Trail Blazers
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
Kings | 35 | 0.96 | 21.7 | 26.5 | 43 | 112 | 33.60 |
Salary: FD: $7,000 DK: $7,200
DeMar DeRozan and Jimmy Butler are good options for tonight, but I am looking at my man -- Christian James (C.J.) McCollum. C.J. will be going up against a Kings' team that has struggled defensively all season long (especially against shooting guards). They have allowed the second-most fantasy points on the year to opposing shooting guards. They have also allowed an average of 6.0 rebounds (25th in NBA), 22.4 PPG (27th in NBA) and 4.2 assist (25th in NBA), to opposing shooting guards on the year. C.J. has a beautiful matchup, so don't be surprised if he finishes as one of the top fantasy plays of the night!
Gordon Hayward (SF), Jazz
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
Lakers | 37 | 0.93 | 24.0 | 24.8 | 43.7 | 102 | 34.41 |
Salary: FD: $7,000 DK: $6,600
Hayward has been a little up-and-down as of late, but we should see the good Hayward tonight. He will be going up a Lakers' defense that has struggled all season long defending opposing small forwards. They have allowed an average of 20.0 PPG (24th in NBA) and the second-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards. Hayward's price is very affordable and should hit 5x value without a problem.
Dirk Nowitzki (PF), Mavericks
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
@Nuggets | 33 | 1.02 | 24.5 | 23.5 | 49.1 | 106 | 33.66 |
Salary: FD: $8,000 DK: $7,400
Dirk has been ballin' as of late averaging 49.2 fantasy points over his last ten games. Tonight he will be going up against the Nuggets, which is a team he has had much success against this season. In three games against them, the seven-footer is averaging 21-9-2. The Nuggets have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing power forwards on the year, so look for Dirk to keep his hot-streak alive!
Hassan Whiteside (C), Heat
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
Nets | 31 | 1.31 | 27.3 | 18.5 | 51.2 | 111 | 40.61 |
Salary: FD: $8,400 DK: $8,400
It was a tough choice between DeAndre Jordan and Hassan Whiteside, but I decided to be a bit of a homer and go with -- the Great Wall of Whiteside! He is averaging 19 points, 12 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game over his last ten. Tonight, he will get a sweet matchup going up against the Nets. They have allowed an average of 21.8 points per game (27th in NBA) and have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing centers on the year. I don't see Amar'e stopping Brook Lopez, which will force Whiteside to pick-up some extra minutes, which could lead to another big game!
Value Plays
Rudy Gobert (C - UTA) FD: $5,500 DK: $5,600
Gobert has been struggling as of late, but going up against the Lakers tonight could mean he bounces back and has a huge game for Utah. The Lakers have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points and have allowed an average of 15.7 rebounds to opposing centers on the year (27th in NBA). In two games against the Lakers this season, Gobert is averaging 38.1 fantasy points, which is another reason why he is a nice value play tonight at the center position.
Ed Davis (PF - POR) FD: $4,600 DK: $4,200
Davis has seen minutes in the 20's for six consecutive games and has been taking advantage of the opportunities Coach Stotts is giving him. He is averaging 24.87 fantasy points in his last six games and will be going up against a Kings' team that has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards on the year. He's in a great spot tonight and the price is right for the big man.
Tim Fraizer (PG - NOP) FD: $4,000 DK: $4,100
I know you guys were expecting me to mention some of the Spurs' players on my value plays section, but I thought it would be a better idea to give you some guys who will fly under the radar when it came to value plays. With that being said -- this is why I have added Tim Fraizer to the list. He is averaging 26 minutes in his last ten games and has produced an average of 27 fantasy points during that span. He will be going up against the Knicks tonight, which is not the best of matchups, but should be able to hit value and is a guy that is blowout proof.
