Vegas Notes

- The Mavericks-Lakers has the highest over/under of the night, resting at 213 total points. It should be a pretty competitive contest as well, with the spread currently Dallas -4.
- Thunder-Nuggets is another high-scoring game (212 over/under), but there is a reasonable blowout concern with Oklahoma City checking in as 13 point home favorites.

Russell Westbrook obviously is the top overall point guard within this slate, but is he worth the colossal salary? The blowout factor mentioned in the prior "Vegas Notes" are somewhat concerning as well. For that reason, it may be better to take the savings in Kyle Lowry. He has been extremely solid so far this season, as he is now fully healthy and primed to take on a high usage role for the Raptors. Even though Milwaukee plays at somewhat of a slower pace, the indiviudal draw against Michael Carter-Williams is one that Lowry can expolit. He has much better splits at home as well.

Salary: FD: $7,800 DK: $7700

This is an awesome matchup for Butler, against an Orlando team that generally isn't interested in playing defense. The individual matchup against Victor Oladipo looks solid as well, given Oladipo is an opportunistic defender that Butler can beat routinely. Butler is extremely active in all facets of the game, racking up points in many different ways. He's plays a ton of minutes as well, making him a high-floor, high-ceiling play.

Nikola Mirotic (SF), Bulls

vs ORL

Salary: FD: $6200 DK: $6700

Once again, Kevin Durant is the best overall small forward, but he is also very pricey in a potential blowout. For that reason, Mirotic makes for the most comfortable SF play on a "per dollar" basis. He has been remarkably consistent this season, seeing 30+ minutes in every contest. The matchup against Orlando is non-imposing as well.

Chris Bosh (PF), Heat

Projection

vs HOU

33.9919.723.443.9810532.67

Salary: FD: $8000 DK: $7300

Bosh is a 20 point, 10 rebound candidate every time he takes the court, and that especially holds true tonight. The Heat are playing up in pace against the Houston Rockets, which ultimately helps their fantasy cause. Expect more shot attempts and rebounding opportunities for Bosh, and he stands alone as the best "higher-end" Power Forward play.

Projection

@ TOR

351.0920.926.542.219837.06

Salary: FD: $8300 DK: $7900

Monroe is simply a beast, and he should be seeing 35+ minutes with his backup, John Henson, unavailable to eat up some frontcourt minutes for the Bucks. Through two games, Monroe is averaging 22 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal per contests. That is a stellar baseline for someone priced like him, and he's a solid play in a mediocre matchup at Toronto.

Value Plays

Joffrey Lauvergne (PF - DEN) FD: $3,800 DK: $4,400

Joffrey is more of a play on FanDuel, as he is near minimum salary over there. He is averaging a very efficient 1.05 FP/min this season, and he could see even more than his 20 minute average, considering the matchup against Oklahoma City.

Clint Capela (C - HOU) FD: $4,500 DK: $4,000

Dwight Howard is out tonight, so Clint Capela will likely draw the start. The matchup against Miami isn't great, but Capela is cheap, and he has produced 46 fantasy points in 43 minutes this season. He should see around 23-26 minutes (barring foul trouble) tonight.

Emmanuel Mudiay (PG - DEN) FD: $5,500 DK: $5,800

The turnovers are a concern for this rookie, especially if he gets out of control trying to keep pace with Westbrook and the Thunder. Still, Mudiay is way too cheap considering his upside. There is some blowout risk here, but Mudiay could even play through it, as the Nuggets try to bring him up to NBA speed.

Julius Randle (PF - LAL) FD: $4,400 DK: $5,300

Randle was great in the season opener, producing 30 FP in 30 minutes. Then he had 2 FP in 1 minutes at Sacramento. I'm willing to bet he'll near the range of his first game, considering a non-imposing home matchup vs the Mavericks. Randle ran into a tough draw against rookie Cauley-Stein on Friday, and this draw rates on the opposite side of the spectrum.

Bosh should be able to eat against the beat up Rockets front court.

All over Bosh tonight, and definitely keeping things balanced with these players. I will pass on Westy and Durant.
