Selecting a defense isn't as glamorous as selecting a quarterback, but it needs to be done. Below the premium line are three GPP defenses, and two cash game defenses. We take into consideration Vegas numbers, home/away, and various team stats. Teams with good special teams play also get a boost, given they have the ability to enhance your upside. Then there are consistent cash game options like Seattle, who fell below 9 FanDuel points in just five games last season. Dive in below with me, and let's sort out some defenses.

While Houston's offense didn't look all that bad last week, they will head into New England now, which is a daunting task. New England has the fourth best rush defense, per Football Outsiders, which takes Lamar Miller out of play for me this week. Houston scored just 14.8 points on the road this season, and 18 points overall. New England allowed an average of 15.6 points per game, and Vegas has this one as a decisive New England blowout. The Patriots were a solid fantasy defense down the stretch, and hung 18 FD on Houston earlier this year. I am expecting another slaughtering.
