Vegas Projected Win Total - 8.5

The Miami Dolphins flashed daily fantasy value in 2014, mainly from quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The Dolphins have made big moves in trying to knock the New England Patriots off of their AFC East throne. Miami brought in Ndamukong Suh to add to an impressive defense, Jordan Cameron from the Browns, and they added young talent out of the draft at their skill positions. Coming into 2015 the problem will not be a lack offense from the Dolphins, but trying to figure out which targets it will come from each week. The Dolphins carry four quality wideouts, and have an established run game in Lamar Miller. Overall the Dolphins should be very competitive in each game they play in. The offense is loaded with talent, and they made a big move on the defensive side of the ball.

Impact Fantasy Players

Ryan Tannehill - The fourth-year quarterback out of Texas A&M has upped his quarterback rating each season, making a big jump to 92.8 last year. This ranked 14th in the league, adding to his first year of crossing over the 4,000 yard mark. He ranked just ahead of Peyton Manning in completion percentage, and threw 27 touchdowns. Tannehill never quite aired it out last season, ranking 28th in yards per attempt (6.86), but was throwing a lot. He managed 590 attempts last season, ranking inside the top ten. Nothing is expected to change for the Dolphins offense, and in fact they added some players to the receiving core. Jordan Cameron headed out of Cleveland this offseason into Miami via free agency, and the Dolphins traded for, home run threat, Kenny Stills. Cameron is a very capable of being a tremendous red zone target, as well as a vertical threat down the field. He is 6'5, and the downside to Cameron is his concussion history. Three concussions in the last two years is a great concern, and you have to think one more this season will put the thought of retirement on his mind.Stills is a burner out of Okalahoma, and is fairly young in the league. He will present the deep ball threat for the Dolphins, hopefully opening up the offense just a little.

Lamar Miller - There are a ton of receiving options for Tannehill this season, meaning it will be tough to matchup for double the points each week. On the other hand, Lamar Miller is going to be a solid RB2, or flex spot option this season. His price tag will likely stay low, and he is coming off an excellent season. He rushed for over 1,000 yards, and found the end zone eight times. He averaged 5.1 yards per attempt, tied for second among running backs. Miller is expected to handle the load again for Miami, even with the newly drafted Jay Ajayi. He may not see 250+ carries this season, but he makes the most of his runs, and is a reliable back.

Impact Fantasy Rookies

DeVante Parker - The 2015 draft was filled with wide receivers ready for breakout seasons again, and the bar was set high from 2014's class. The stud wideout from Louisville landed with the Dolphins, and they are hoping to strike a connection with Tannehill. He is 6'3 and just a touch over 200 pounds. Parker does have a lot of question marks around him after the surgery on his foot. He lacked the quickness after returning last year, and it is a worry for some. He is expected to miss preseason, and this may slightly set him back for 2015. If he gets to full-go, he will be a nice option in daily fantasy.

Storylines

The biggest story line for daily fantasy football, is who will get the majority of the targets? Kenny Stills, Jordan Cameron, Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, and even Greg Jennings are all at Tannehill's disposal this season. Landry will likely land a lot of receptions, but lacks in the mid to deep passing game. Stills has been used as a home run threat and nothing more, but he does have the skills to be an above average wideout. Parker has his healthy issues surrounding him, and what does Jennings have left in the tank. If Cameron stays healthy, he has to see a lot of the red zone targets, and downfield throws. That is a very big "if" with his concussion history. Pairing a wideout with Tannehill is going to be tough this year, but him on his own could be a discount QB.

Stock Watch

Up - Ryan Tannehill

We all try to speculate what the word is from the coaching staff in training camp and preseason, but the Dolphins are looking to air it out more this season. This bodes well for Tannehill. He had a pretty safe floor, given the matchup, but lacked a real upside. This could change this season, especially with the weapons he has around him. Tannehill will lead some GPP teams of mine, and quite possibly cash games, depending on the slate.

Up - Jordan Cameron

Anyone who gets out of Cleveland gets a green arrow, that is for certain. Cameron is leaving an awful quarterback situation, and is coming into one where Tannehill is trending upwards. As long as Cameron stays healthy, the big bodied tight end will lead the core for downfield receptions, and red zone targets. I believe Cameron has tremendous sleeper upsides in the early weeks, and then sites may up his price depending on the play.

Daily Fantasy Outlook

The Dolphins are looking very good for 2015, maybe not enough to take over the AFC East, but they are closer than the other two in the division. Miami is youthful, and filled with talented skilled position players. Tannehill, Cameron, and Miller come out as early options for safe plays, while the others are GPP risks each week. This is not a knock anybody's skill, just too many targets. The Dolphins will be a team to keep an eye on for the early weeks, trying to gauge the go-to man for Tannehill. The defense will also be in play for some weeks, as they could have a dominant defensive line. A lot of good things for Miami, but also many questions to be answered, that only time will tell.
