We are looking ahead at Week 3 to find the elite matchups for wide receivers against corners. Using Pro Football Focus's ratings as a base, we are able to get an advanced look at what matchups we can take advantage of. Defense against opposing WR's is grabbed from FootballOutsiders. They matchups are broken down into the top tier matchups, middle tier matchups, and matchups to possibly fade. Now the opposing cornerback may not always be on the highlighted receiver, but this is a look at who the highlighted receiver will likely see most of the game. Not every number one cornerback covers the opposing team's wide receiver. They usually stay on their side of the field, and on occasion can shadow a number one. I will continue to edit it during the week, if there is given news of a switch in matchups. Blown coverage equals great matchups, zone coverages suggest they are toss-ups, and lockdown coverage is pretty self explanatory. Premium access grants you the full article.

We can jump right into one of the big topics of Week 3. Can A.J. Green get things on track with how bad this Cincinnati offense has been this season. Green Bay ranks 28th against WR1s, and their secondary lacks an elite corner to shut down the big wide receivers. Green will see Damarious Randall and Davon House, who are two bottom end corners. Randall has allowed 0.49 fantasy points per route run, and is being targeted 23% of the time. Green should have a heavy target share this week, as he usually does. The $7,500 on FanDuel is a very enticing price tag.

Talking some AFC West wideouts, Demaryius Thomas is in a good spot against E.J. Gaines. He allowed a monster 0.40 F/R since last season, and is targeted 20% of the time. The Denver offense has looked good so far this season, but traveling to Buffalo is a tough spot. I am not really on the Denver passing attack, but can't rule them out as contrarian options. Thomas has a slight bump over Emmanuel Sanders. Keenan Allen is going to see a lot of Phillip Gaines this week, who has allowed a 0.40 F/R to wideouts since last season.
