Eagles at Falcons

I love Ryan in week 1 against the Eagles. The Eagles secondary is awful. They're starting two guys by the name of Eric Rowe and Byron Maxwell. They are prone to the give up the big play with 7.8 yard allowed per attempt and 1.88 touchdowns through the air. The Eagles offense also plays at a quick tempo having the lowest time of possession last year at 26:40 minutes per game. The Falcons should have the ball plenty and have a high point total of 26, according to oddsmakers. Ryan looked sharp in the preseason going 13-for-18 for 210 yards, two touchdowns and zero picks.

Tannehill should have a field day against a Redskins team in disarray. They just are not good in all aspects of football but especially against the pass. They gave up over two touchdowns a game through the air and allowed 8.2 yards per attempt last year. DeAngleo Hall is back, but he' a year older and coming off a nasty injury. The Dolphins added plenty of weapons for Tannehill to work with. Tannehill will also be looking to prove his new contract is worth it after throwing for over 4,000 yards with a 58.0 QBR.

There are many things that work to Taylor's advantage in week 1. His price is attractive as he is the site minimum on FanDuel and DraftKings. Taylor had a great preseason with 236 yards and a completion percentage of 77.4%. He also brings a running element with 108 yards on the ground at 9.8 yards per carry. The Colts are middle of the pack defensively allowing 7.2 yards per attempt and 1.69 touchdowns per game.

Carr gets a fantastic matchup to start his second year as a pro. Carr is looking to build off a rookie season in which he threw for over 3,000 yards and 21 touchdowns. The Bengals, despite having Marvin Lewis as their head coach, can struggle on the defensive side of the ball. They rarely got to the quarterback only averaging 1.25 sacks a game. Carr has some fantastic new weapons on the outside in Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree.

Browns @ Jets

McCown is a great contrarian GPP play going against the Jets this week. His price tag is depressed for several reasons. The first is the Browns lack playmakers at the receiver slots due to the suspension of Josh Gordon. He also has a man by the name of Johnny Manziel breathing down his neck. McCown has some positives going his way, too. The first is his opponent. The Jets were awful against the pass last year, but they did sign Darrelle Revis. They gave up almost two touchdowns a game through the air and forced less than one turnover per game. While they did get after the quarterback with nearly three sacks a game, they will be without their best player, Sheldon Richardson. McCown also had a decent preseason completing 76.3% of his passes for three touchdowns with two interceptions.

Vikings at 49ers
Teddy Bridgewater (QB), Minnesota Vikings | |||||||

With the return of Adrian Peterson, Bridgewater is likely to slip through the cracks. The 49ers defense is a big question mark after the loss of several key players. Last year, they struggled to contain the pass giving up almost two touchdowns a game through the air. Bridgewater came into his own in the last five games of last year. He threw for 246 yards per game with a 72.14% completion percentage. His touchdown to interception ratio was 8-to-5 in those games. With the addition of Mike Williams and the return of Peterson, Bridgewater has weapons to work with in his second year in Norv Turner's offense.
