NFL Sports Betting Toolkit
Welcome to Stacking to Win it. In this article I will give you three options to stack. Remember that winning a GPP isn't always about maximizing points but instead maximizing some form of points and ownership. As always, plays will be listed from favorite to least favorite of the stacks.
In week 1 there are plenty of options to chose from. I love Green Bay going against what might be the worst defense in the NFL in the Bears. The Giants vs Cowboys game looks to be a shootout as well.
Top Stack 1
Falcons vs Eagles- Team Total 26.5
The Falcons are my top option to stack at home against the Eagles. This game has the highest over/under of the week at 56. The Falcons are actually a small underdog in this game but I just do not see it. The Eagles defense is not that good especially in the secondary. They gave up almost 8 yards per attempt and two touchdowns through the air last year. Matt Ryan plays better at home with a QBR 10 points higher than on the road. Julio Jones is healthy and in store for a big year. The ground game should be more consistent with Tevin Coleman's fresh legs as well.
Name | Position | FanDuel Salary | DraftKings Salary |
Matt Ryan | QB | $8,800 | $7,500 |
Julio Jones | WR | $9,000 | $9,300 |
Tevin Coleman | RB | $6,700 | $4,800 |
Roddy White | WR | $7,600 | $6,500 |
Devin Hester | WR | $4,800 | $3,500 |
Top Stack 2
Eagles @ Falcons - Team Total 29.5
Just because I like the Falcons a little more than the Eagles does not mean they should not get my love as well. They have the highest team total on the board at 29.5 points. Sam Bradford looked healthy and great in Chip Kelly's offense in the preseason. They brought in DeMarco Murray and Ryan Matthews, two backs who fit Kelly's system better. They have question marks on the offensive line and their top wide receivers, while talented, are still unproven. Between Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor and Zach Ertz they have played a combined 48 games. Most of those games were as secondary options. They are cheaper at all the skill positions, minus Murray, which is a big positive if you want to pair them with other big names.
Name | Position | FanDuel Salary | DraftKings Salary |
Sam Bradford | QB | $7,500 | $6,900 |
DeMarco Murray | RB | $8,500 | $6,700 |
Jordan Matthews | WR | $6,800 | $7,200 |
Nelson Agholor | WR | $5,500 | $5,700 |
Zach Ertz | TE | $5,400 | $3,600 |
Value Stack
Dolphins @ Redskins - Team Total 23.5
A team that I feel is going to get overlooked with the shoot outs that should take place in Atlanta and Dallas are the Miami Dolphins. I am a huge fan of Ryan Tannehill and feel he takes a huge leap this year. Lamar Miller is healthy and underrated. They added DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Jordan Cameron to go along with the emerging Jarvis Landry. They are favorites to win over a Washington squad that scares no one. Washington ranked in the bottom in almost every statistical category against the pass. They gave up 8.2 yards per attempt and over two touchdowns a game. Opposing quarterbacks had a 108.3 rating against them which led the NFL.
Name | Position | FanDuel Salary | DraftKings Salary |
Ryan Tannehill | QB | $8,000 | $7,400 |
Jarvis Landry | WR | $6,900 | $5,600 |
DeVante Parker | WR | $5,400 | $4,100 |
Lamar Miller | RB | $7,300 | $5,500 |
Kenny Stills | WR | $5,400 | $4,700 |
Jordan Cameron | TE | $5,500 | $3,800 |
Contrarian Stack
Chargers vs Lions - Team Total 24.5
A team that is flying under the radar in Week 1 is Philip Rivers and the Chargers. They are tied with the Colts for the eighth highest total on the board. The Lions had a stout defense last year against the pass only giving up 232 yards and reeling in 20 interceptions. Last year's numbers can be taken with a grain of salt as they lost several key pieces and are dealing with injuries. Rivers is one of, if not the most underrated quarterback in the league. He continually throws for over 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns a year. The losesof both his stud tight ends in Week 1 will hurt, but the addition of Melvin Gordon and a healthy Danny Woodhead will make up for the losses. The addition of Stevie Johnson is an under the radar move that will add another downfield weapon for Rivers. The Chargers prices are much more reasonable on DraftKings compared to FanDuel.
Name | Position | FanDuel Salary | DraftKings Salary |
Phillip Rivers | QB | $8,100 | $7,100 |
Keenan Allen | WR | $7,900 | $7,100 |
Melvin Gordon | RB | $7,100 | $5,500 |
Malcom Floyd | WR | $5,900 | $5,300 |
Stevie Johnson | WR | $4,700 | $3,700 |
Danny Woodhead | RB | $6,000 | $3,700 |
