You are viewing a daily MLB post featuring two lineups from our optimizer. An optimal 4-man stack has been included in each, and the optimizer was ran as is. Alongside the lineups, I will list some general info about the matchups and thought process of what was optimized. Feel free to comment or fire away with questions and be sure to check out our daily MLB content on the site.

FanDuel Lineup With Stack

The optimizer decides to go with the chalk pitcher tonight, which isn't a surprise given the slate of pitching. Marcus Stroman is a home favorite, and rolls a ton of groundballs. No pitcher has significant strikeout upside tonight, so with Stroman's strikeout rate being quite average, he is okay. The Marlins stack is the optimal one tonight, which surprises me a little bit. Not to say I don't like it, but was expecting Toronto or Texas. Miami does have some decent price tags, and Jeremy Hellickson's numbers are below average this season. There is some upside. There is still some exposure to other offenses, with the Rays right-handers against Perez, and Justin Upton versus. Jason Hammel. This stack should be on the contrarian side tonight.

DraftKings Lineup With Stack

We feature two of the top pitchers again tonight, and Julio Teheran is in addition. He has been better off on the road this season, as SunTrust Park is becoming a nightmare for these Braves pitchers. If Mike Trout is out, he gets a big upgrade, and especially with the left-handed bats not being so much of a threat. The Marlins stack remains here, and this time Marcell Ozuna is swapped in for J.T. Realmuto. Their prices carry a bit more value on DraftKings, so fitting in Jonathan Lucroy, Josh Donaldson, and Kendrys Morales is a huge plus. Hellickson is allowing a .363 wOBA to right-handers, and has just a 9.7% strikeout rate on the season. With a FIP over five against both sides of the plate, and a .222 BABIP, we have some regression coming soon.
