Analysis:

Seeing Cam Newton and Drew Brees in here was not a surprise to start the week. In New Orleans already puts Brees on the map, especially against this Carolina defense. Newton is expected to be cleared to play, and will get the Saints secondary in his first game back. These teams rank 22nd and 26th against the pass, per Football Outsiders. Hard not to like these names. The Tyrod Taylor play is really interesting in a stack for Buffalo, as it keyed in on value instead of big priced names. For $5,300 I can roll the dice on him in a tournament stack, especially pairing him with LeSean McCoy hoping for a little connection there.

The optimizer is paying up at running back this week, and with some big names. Le'Veon Bell and David Johnson are two of the biggest workhorse backs in the NFL, and in the same lineup you are getting a solid floor, and also a high ceiling with their involvement in the passing game as well. The Jets have a good rush defense, but struggle against backs in the passing game. I am not necessarily worried about the matchup. Johnson will get his yardage one way or another. Bell going up against a bad Miami defense should be a field day in the making. We have already seen two monster yardage games. LeSean McCoy is used here, which I like a lot this week. Running backs have had huge games against San Francisco of late, and they rank 23rd against the rush. McCoy is a solid option in all formats. Depending on what defense shows up for the Rams, Theo Riddick has a tough matchup on paper. Also curious to see how Justin Forsett fits in. In a GPP he is worth a look still with the full-point PPR.

The optimizer is on a group that is far away from my process so far this week. Tavon Austin and Kenny Britt both are dirt cheap and get a Lions defense that ranks 31st against the pass, but man my stomach is in knots thinking about it. Both are under $4,000, but Cafe Value and projections are there. This was the method for the optimizer to get this running back group in. Doug Baldwin pops up after a Bye Week, and I love the Seattle passing attack this week, and their value. Baldwin is a solid play, although don't forget about Jimmy Graham. The Green Bay secondary has been allowing some big games, and Cole Beasley's price continues to be cheap. PPR format again, he is playable. Robert Woods rounds things off for the Buffalo stack, pairing him with Taylor. Woods has been targeted quite a bit, but touchdown upside is minimal.

Zach Miller continues to be used heavily by Brian Hoyer, and is a solid option in all formats. Jacksonville hasn't necessarily played any real tight ends to start the season, but struggled against them last season. Chicago has a sneaky total yet again. Zach Ertz was a popular play last week, but only saw three targets in a good matchup. The Redskins have been middle of the road against tight ends, and Ertz should go to being overlooked this week due to the many other options.

Chiefs and Texans don't register on my radar this week, but it is hard to question what the optimizer has been spitting out for defenses. Oakland and Indy are high scoring offenses right now, but Indy might give the Texans more life than Oakland does Kansas City.
