With a Thursday roster-lock and Lacy's status still up in the air, do I gamble on J.Starks in my flex or plug in a TE (Ebron/Rudolph) that I know will see plenty of action?

What site is this on? I am going to assume DraftKings since FanDuel does not have a flex. If so then you can plug in Starks right now and keep an eye on Lacy's status. DraftKings does offer late swap and you can change your lineup right until game time of that player.

If this is DFS, my question would be, why either of them? Im new here so please correct my thinking but couldnt you take a cheaper RB and splurge your extra on a WR? If you ditch Lacy, you can snag Jordan Matthews and save $300, Landry and save $800. Or for only $200 more you can put Gronk in the Flex spot.

DFS on DraftKings. I'm new on DK and a buddy told me the entire roster locks at start of first game (tonight), but if that's not the case I'll just watch for Lacy's injury updates. This particular lineup was put together assuming Lacy wouldn't play and I could safely roll with Starks (valued at the minimum $3,000) in my flex. But it sounds like there's a decent chance Lacy plays, in which case I'd rather have another TE in that spot than Starks.

WhoDeyNation he was talking about playing Starks who is at site minimum in his flex. For the cost Starks if Lacy is out is a no brainier play as he allows great roster flexibility. TaterSalad plug in Starks and just keep an eye out on Lacy. It is too early to tell if he is going to play but on DK you have the flexibility to make roster changes. The only players that will lock are the ones that play tonight. FanDuel is different where all players lock tonight.

good to know because I was worried about this as well.

However lets say I find out Monday night that lacy can play... who can I put in as a flex right before game?

Charles they have about the same salary on DK

That would be a tough question to answer. I would suggest leaving some salary open to go up to a player but even if Lacy plays you may not need to. Lets say Lacy does play he will not be 100% which will give Starks some extra carries. Starks was already seeing touches a game so its not like he will not see the field with Lacy in the lineup. Based on match up though Starks is more a GPP play for me to begin with. The Chiefs have not allowed a rushing touchdown this season and only allow 3.7 yards per carry.
