I am pretty new to daily fantasy. After all my research (NFL), I have selected the players I like with good matchups. But I still have a good amount of salary left under the cap. How much is too much to leave under the cap? When should I go for a high cost player with a bad matchup when I have the money available instead of going with my good matchup picks at less cost?

One of the hardest things to learn as a player is that it is ok to leave salary on the table. I always play who I feel are the best plays and if I have a ton of salary left over so be it. I will try to look to see if there is a better spot to upgrade with that salary but if there is not than I am fine leaving money on the table.

I am on board with what Zach is saying, and it is okay to leave salary on the table. This week I have $1,100 leftover on DK. Some weeks I could use that extra, some weeks I can't. Like Zach said, I would just look at each position and see what I could get instead, and If you don't like it, leave it.

Over thinking leaving salary on the table is one of the biggest traps in DFS. Often times, myself included when I started, gamers will spend more just for the sake of spending more. The result is a downgrade in player/matchup. Over the last few weeks, a guy like Todd Gurley has been under priced, the result has been leftover money for me when putting together lineups. Sometimes it just happens that way.
