Colossus - Lineup Optimizer

This thread is for everything and anything related to Colossus, the most badass lineup optimizer in daily fantasy sports. We will keep a bug report and development list here for reference. If you have an idea or feature you'd like, please post. It will help us continue to make Colossus the best it can be. All of our tools are optimized for Chrome and mobile-friendly.

11/6 - Injuries are now available

11/10 - Exclude All Injuries turned on by default

12/23 - Mobile-Friendly

NFL Lineup Optimizer:

9/28 - Defaulted Colossus projections to GPP

9/29 - Added default option to "On" to disallow pairing of QB and RB's from same team.

10/9 - Added Maximum Number of Players Per Team Advanced Option. Defaulted to On and 1 player per team. You can turn this Off or select up to 4 players.

10/14 - Added saving of last settings used (locks, exposure, etc) for the entire week. Previously it reset each day.

12/23 - Mobile-Friendly

Definitions

Position Color Coding: the color coding of players in Colossus are based on projection value.

Green = Tier 1 player

Yellow = Tier 2 player

Red = Tier 3 Player

Cafe Value Color Coding: the color coding of players in Colossus are based on value of the player

Green = High Value

Yellow = Medium Value

Red = Low Value

@Krush88 - For your projections the easiest way to upload in a mass way is v-lookup in excel. It's a formula that matched names and brings the data over. There's some YouTube tutorials on how to do that. And to gear towards GPP's Sam mentioned the player models which changes projections. That can boost guys quite a bit that might carry just an average projection and you're looking to hit on their ceiling. Adding strikeout upside to pitchers can be done there or the ISO model for hitters. It'll give you a better target score since you are searching for ceiling. Something I do is lock in a few GPP style players and let it build around them. It gives a best of both worlds.

I was tinkering with the Lineup builder for Golf and noticed that all of the golfers are mixed between PGA and EURO event. Are there any plans in the works for adding a separation button for the two?

does the optimizer not work with the projections tool? when i make changes on the projections page it does not update on the optimizer page. Maybe i am doing something wrong. thanks in advance

@asr01981 - It should be carrying over for you. I just ran it myself, and worked fine. It might be a cache issue on your computer, clearing that could solve the issue. Is there anything you are clicking for advanced options or filters?

clearing the cache on my browsers and my computer did nothing I have tried it in 3 different browsers firefox internet explorer and microsoft edge and also tried on my other laptop. same results on all info will go from the optimizer to projections but will not go the from projections to the optimizer. it will lock players in my lineups if i lock them on the projections page but still shows the original cafe value and original projected points. i havent used the advanced or filter tab. thanks for the response.

@asr01981 - our tools are optimized for Google Chrome. While they should definitely work in Firefox, please use Chrome for optimal performance. After All Star break, we'll test this again.

I have tried chrome still same results. I also did a complete restore to factory settings wiped hard disk and fresh install of windows 10. on the mlb projections page say i check the park factor and it adjusts the projections and the cafe value is it supposed to update on the optimizer page also? just trying to figure out if i am doing something wrong and its just me. thanks again.

@asr01981 - you are correct, the projections changes aren't carrying over. Locks and Excludes are carrying over. I will talk with our development team about this Monday. I will follow up.

@asr01981 - update to last message. We tested again and it's working. The thing to pay attention to is that after you update Projections on the MLB Projections page, refresh the Lineup Optimizer (may have to do it twice). That should do it. It's working for me.

Sam the only time i can pull updated projections are if I change them manually then it pulls them over fine. When i use your filters it still wont pull the updated projection over i have tried multiple refreshes on both the mlb projections page and the optimizer and still wont pull the correct values.
