Recap

What a crazy Sunday that was for the PGA Championship! You had a lot of players having a shot to win entering the back 9. By the end, you had Justin Thomas pulling off an amazing victory with the explanation point on 17 with a birdie. For draftkings, I had 20/25 golfers making it to the weekend and I had some J.T., some Rickie and some Reed which helped me managed to get a profit for the week. Congrats to J.T. on finally winning in the U.S. and his first major title!

This Week

We are headed to North Carolina in Greensboro for the Wyndham Championship. The course is called Sedgefield Country Club. It's a Par 70, 7,127 yards. This is going to be the last tournament for guys to get inside the top 125 in the FedEx cup or otherwise, they will compete for the last 25 remaining cards for next season. I will be looking at players who are on the bubble this week just for that reason. For stats, I'm looking at SG: Approach The Green; SG: Around The Green; and B.O.B. % in the last 12 rounds. Other stats to consider will be SG: Par 4 scoring; SG: Fairways Hit; and DK points in the last 12 rounds.

3 Core Plays

Webb Simpson ($10,000) – This week is brutal with the pricing and I believe going balance is the way to go and having Webb as your primary target will be a good start. Webb has made his last 5 cuts on tour and finishing inside the top 15 twice. His course history is very solid with making all 5 cuts in his last 5 appearances including 2 top 10s. For stats, he's 30th in the field for SG: Approach The Green; 9th in the field for SG: Around The Green; and he's 35th in the field for making birdies. At the top, everyone is in play and for me, I'm going to pick the cheapest guy and move on.

Keegan Bradley ($9,500) – I'm not sure what Bradley's ownership % will be with him being sandwich between Stanley and Moore. You would think he'll be popular for his stats. In the last 12 rounds, he's 15th in the field for SG: Approach The Green; 23rd in the field for SG: Around The Green; and 7th in the field for making birdies. He has 2 top 10s in his last 5 starts this season and with a tied for 46th last year, being his only start here in the last 5 years, he is going to be my dark horse for this week.

Kevin Streelman ($8,300) – Streelman is that bubble guy on the FedEx cup points list who I like this week. He's ranked 82nd entering this week and if he misses the cut, there is a possibility that he might fall out of that 125. Recently, he's been playing very solidly to keep his ranking inside the top 100. In his last 5 starts, he has 3 top 20s and he's made all 5 cuts. He hasn't played here since 2012 and he finished T37. For stats, he's 63rd in the field for SG: Approach The Green; 55th in the field for SG: Around The Green; and he's 15th in the field for making birdies. If he makes the cut, then he should be safe to move on.

3 Honourable Mentions

Bill Haas ($10,200) – Haas has been consistent lately with his par 4 scoring. In the last 12 rounds, he's 8th in the field for SG: Par 4. He's also 26th in the field for DK points. With similar history to that of Webb, and with a decent finish last week, he'll be a fine secondary pick at the top.

Byeong Hun An ($8,900) – B. An has been a up and down player all season. He might be a nice pivot option with Bud Cauley being just above him. He finished inside the top 30 last week and with being in the top 15 in the field for both birdies and DK points, he will be a nice sleeper pick for this week.

Nick Taylor ($7,000) – So, it's been a while for me to have a Canadian on my roster. For this week, I like Nick Taylor chances on making the cut. He's ranked 84th in the FedEx cup standings and just like Streelman, he needs to make it to the weekend to be safe for next week. He's ranked 8th in the field for SG: Around The Green and 26th in the field for SG: Par 4 scoring.

3 Fades

Kevin Kisner ($11,300) – With being in contention to win last week and being just the 2nd guy from the top, he should be a very popular pick. I can see him reaching that 30% in ownership. There's nothing wrong with him, however, if he's going to be that popular, then it's best to fade him.

Danny Lee ($8,700) – He has missed his last 3 cuts here and with missing a cut last week, he is too expensive for me to roster him. If he was at least $1,000 cheaper, then I will consider him, but not at almost $9,000.

D. A. Points ($7,000) – Points has not played his best in recent weeks and that's an understatement. For stats, he's virtually dead last in the field for most of the stats that I'm looking for. He has missed 4 cuts in his last 6. I just don't feel comfortable rostering him with his recent performance.

Exposure

For exposure, this is the point of the season when you start to cut back a little. For the core, I'm going to exposed them around 40% and have a balance roster. For my honourable mentions, they will be around 20-25%. For my player pool, I'm going to be rostering around 15-20 golfers this week. Starting next week is when we start to be a bit more aggressive with our selections.

Good luck everyone!
