Vancouver is coming into Boston tonight playing .500 hockey in their last ten games, sitting 4th in the Pacific. Tuukka Rask is sitting in a very good spot tonight at home, against a team he has shutout once this year already. Rask's prior game gives him a nudge for me, but Vancouver has struggled on offense all season, ranking 26th in goals per game. Their PP% ranks 23rd in the league, and they struggle to score on the road. Rask has been up and down at home this season, and his season has been a bit average. He does rank 11th in +.950 SV% games this season, however. Rask has a nice backing from Vegas at home tonight, and I am all aboard the Rask train.

Well look who is back, Sidney Crosby has 13 points in the last ten games, with four of them coming on the man advantage. Crosby is back at home tonight facing a familiar foe, and has tallied 23 points in 21 home games this season. A pretty good split from his 14 points in 23 away games. Pittsburgh's powerplay is on the rise, ranking 12th in the league. The Penguins have a big advantage against Philly's 23rd ranked PK%. (79.2%) Crosby is likely to get lost in the mix tonight, given the Sharks, Stars, and his teammate Evgeni Malkin being all in the price area, also in good spots.

While the majority will be on the other side of this game, pivoting to Taylor Hall on the other side is not a bad move. Dallas ranks in the middle of the league for goals allowed per game. (2.66) Edmonton has struggled on the road this season, and really overall in general, but Taylor Hall is always a high upside play. He has six points in the last ten games, and 46 on the season, ranking 7th in the league. Hall has 12 multi-point games this year, ranking 12th. Hall is going to be one of the lower-owned wingers tonight, yet carries upside with the best of them.

I love Torey Krug tonight as a "cheaper" defenseman with scoring upside. He has been playing on the bottom even strength line, but sees plenty of time on the powerplay. He has four powerplay points in the last ten games, and gets a nice matchup against a struggling penalty killing unit. They rank 16th in the league in PK%, and have allowed 2.85 goals per game on the road. Boston on the other hand has had a dominant powerplay unit all year, ranking 2nd behind Washington. They are generating three goals per game at home this season. If you are paying up for defense tonight, guys like Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson are your high ceiling guys.

Ryan Johansen (C), Predators

This trade has worked out tremendously for Nashville, and I can say the same Columbus, as I will talk about below. Ryan Johnasen has nine points in the last ten games, seven of them being helpers. Even on the road here I will take a shot at the Nashville offense, even though they have been a disappointing this season. Johansen has been the consistent point-getter of late, and his price is in a good spot. He leads Nashville in points per 60 now, which wasn't hard to do when coming over. He has helped their offense tremendously. Winnipeg has struggled on the defensive side this season, allowing the 6th most goals per game, and have just a 77% PK%.

Value Plays

Seth Jones (D - CBJ) FD: $4,700 DK: $4,400

Seth Jones was the man Nashville shipped off for Johansen, who is now seeing first line time in Columbus. He has four assists in the last three games, and now gets a chance to keep it rolling against Calgary. The Flames have allowed the second most goals per game, and have the worst PK%. Jones is also seeing time on the powerplay. He is in a great spot to anchor down a defense spot in your lineups tonight.

Joe Thornton (C - SJ) FD: $5,400 DK: $5,100

Sorry people, but you will continue to see Joe Thornton here until the sites adjust his price. He has 12 points in the last ten games, and 35 on the season. The Sharks will be a popular team tonight, and Thornton is the best points-per-dollar play on the top line. With Arizona allowing 2.98 goals per game, get yourself some Thornton.

Tobias Rieder (W - AZ) FD: $5,100 DK: $4,600

On the opposite side of the Sharks-Coyotes game, Tobias Rieder is in the midst of a nice streak, with ten points in ten games. Rieder has been impressive for Phoenix, registering 28 on the season. Arizona's offense has been talented this season, scoring 2.73 goals per game, ranking 8th in the league. I love Rieder's price here, and the matchup with San Jose is not one to shy away from.
