Goalies
Frederik Andersen (G), Ducks
FanDuel | DraftKings | Opponent | GAA | SV% | QS% | Opp Goal Total | Moneyline |
$8,300 | $7,500 | @Canucks | 2.39 | .917 | .630 | 2.5 (+137) | -144 |
I am not in favor of many goalies tonight, and Frederik Andersen checks off the most boxes for me. He has seven wins in the last nine games, with a 2.35 GAA. Anaheim has completely turned around their season, and have allowed the 7th fewest goals per game. Vancouver is generating the second most goals per game this season, and they are a long shot to score over two according to Vegas tonight. Andersen sits at a decent price tag to help you construct a lineup a bit more freely. Anaheim are the second highest favorites tonight, and Vancouver is projected to score the lowest amount of goals. Sign me up.
UPDATE:
John Gibson is starting tonight for the Ducks, NOT Federik Andersen. He is still a top play.
Top Skaters
Joe Pavelski (C/RW), Sharks
FanDuel | DraftKings | Opponent | Time On Ice | Points/60 | Shots/60 | Lines | Team |
$8,100 | $7,700 | @Panthers | 19:50 | 2.85 | 8.1 | Even 1, PP 1 | 2.5 (-134) |
Dallas is the team drawing all of the attention tonight, and if you are looking to pivot off of them, or even pair alongside, the Sharks are a good bunch to do it with. They are projected to be the third highest scoring team tonight, and are really just a shade lower than the Stars in that department. San Jose has been a better road team this season, and it has shown in their splits. Pavelski averages 4.6 fantasy points per game on the road, to 3.8 at home. The Sharks top line, and powerplay line is a good spot to target. Brent Burns, Joe Thornton, and Patrick Marleau are all intriguing options.
Roman Josi (D), Predators
FanDuel | DraftKings | Opponent | Time On Ice | Points/60 | Shots/60 | Lines | Team |
$5,500 | $6,900 | Bruins | 24:50 | 1.76 | 5.4 | Even 1, PP 1 | 2.5 (-128) |
There are a handful of high-scoring defenseman tonight, and Roman Josi stands out as the contrarian option. Boston is not the stout defensive team they once were, and are allowing 2.8 goals per game, ranking 21st in the league. Nashville is projected to be the fourth highest scoring team tonight, and coming out of the break, Boston ranks 20th in PK%. The Nashville Predators possess a frustrating offense, due to their random outbursts, and low floors. They have scored 3.14 goals per game since the break, so here is hoping to a much more stabler second half.
Mats Zuccarello (W), Rangers
FanDuel | DraftKings | Opponent | Time On Ice | Points/60 | Shots/60 | Lines | Team |
$5,900 | $6,100 | @Maple Leafs | 18:30 | 2.45 | 6.7 | Even 1, PP 1 | 2.5 (-143) |
I am not too worried about the Rangers on the back-to-back, and some might be. They have 3.27 goals per game on zero days rest this season, ranking third in the league. They also have a cupcake matchup on the road against Toronto. Vegas sees the Rangers scoring three or more tonight with no problem. The top line, and the top powerplay unit offer the most for the Rangers, as they have been the ones to do their jobs most of the season. Zuccarello has big time upside tonight, and with Toronto ranking in the bottom third in PK% and GA/G, this top line makes a lot of sense tonight.
Tyler Johnson (C), Lightning
FanDuel | DraftKings | Opponent | Time On Ice | Points/60 | Shots/60 | Lines | Team |
$6,300 | $5,200 | Jets | 17:20 | 1.77 | 8.3 | Even 2, PP 1 | 2.5 (-140) |
The second line of Tampa is in a great spot tonight, and come at some decent prices. They are also the top powerplay unit with Steven Stamkos added on. Winnipeg ranks 29th in powerplay goals allowed, and 27th in PK%. This is a solid line to stack tonight, with Nikita Kucherov and Ondrej Palat being the others. Johnson has seven points in the last ten games, with three coming on the man advantage. From a points-per-dollar standpoint, Johnson is one of my favorite plays on the night.
Value Plays
David Perron (W - ANH) FD: $5,500 DK: $4,600
David Perron's price has not really come up with his recent production, especially on DK. He has five points in the last four games, and is riding that four game point streak in to tonight. He gets an above average matchup against Vancouver, who have allowed 2.8 goals per game. Anaheim is red-hot, and Perron is benefitting.
Jordan Stall (C - CAR) FD: $6,000 DK: $4,100
This is a DraftKings value play as you can see, and Jordan Stall is entirely too cheap. I am not sure what is going on over there, but give me a break. Stall should be highly owned if people are paying attention. He has 12 points in the last ten games, and 34 on the season. Ottawa has allowed the most goals per game this season, and are horrendous on the penalty kill.
Matt Dumba (D - MIN) FD: $4,300 DK: $4,100
Matt Dumba is a good cheap defenseman to get some exposure tonight, especially against Edmonton. They have allowed the 5th most goals per game this season, and possess an average PK%. Dumba plays on the second unit and is a cheap option to help you pay up for the studs. He has six points in the last ten games.
