Vegas Notes

- San Jose, Anaheim, and Tampa Bay are projected to score over three goals tonight, with Buffalo, Boston, L.A., and Minnesota being the next closest. (Anaheim will be the chalk tonight)

- Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Chicago are teams in the middle who can bring the upside regardless of their average team total

- L.A., Nashville, and Minnesota all lines over -200. They are very friendly for your goalies, whomever they roll out.

Martin Jones will come in tonight winning seven of his last ten games, with a 1.88 GAA. He has averaged 5.6 DraftKings points per game in that span, and I expect him to be above that tonight. Jones has pretty severe home/away splits, winning 20 of 29 games on the road this season, with a 2.26 GAA. He has won just 11 of 24 at home, with a 2.41 GAA. No worries tonight, San Jose heads to face Vancouver again, but this time in their building. Vancouver struggles to put the puck in the net, ranking 27th in goals scored per game, and have a below average power-play unit. Jones is a cheaper option tonight who can help free up a little more space for the big skates.

The Steven Stamkos of old has returned, with 11 points in the last ten games. He is now up to 51 points on the season after a very slow start. Tampa is in one of the better spots of any team tonight, facing Ottawa. They rank 28th in goals allowed per game (3.0), and rank 29th in PK% (.740). Stamkos can attack on both the man advantage and even strength, with three points on the power-play in the last then. Stamkos has three multi-point games in the last five, and once again that upside is back to where we have known it could be. Look for him to be moderately owned tonight, but not as high as he would have been in the past.

Brent Burns is always a high-upside player I love to target, and is coming off of a three point night. The price can make some shy away for a defenseman, but this guy churns out points like no other. He is second to only Erik Karlsson for points by a defenseman this season, sitting with 54. 21 of those have come on the man advantage this season, as he excels there too. Burns logs heavy ice time, and generates a ton of shots on goal. Vancouver ranks 21st in goals allowed per game this season, and have an average PK%. Look for the Sharks to continue their winning ways, as well as some Burns' points come the end of the night.

While most will be on the other bench of this game, Edmonton is still very capable of putting up their share of goals. Their ownership should be down tonight, and I am looking at them as a sneaky stack for tonight's slate. Philly is an undisciplined bunch, and rank 26th in PPGA. They also rank in the middle of the league in goals allowed per game (2.6). Taylor Hall will fly under the radar on tonight's slate, and his salary has come down a bit. He has just four points in the last ten, but is in a solid spot to add to that total tonight.

Jack Eichel is going to be one of the premier players in the league for some time, and he has already generated 41 points this year. He is a cheaper first-liner with multi-point upside, and playing Calgary at home tonight is a great matchup for him. They have allowed 3.1 goals per game this season, and rank dead last on the penalty kill. Not much has changed since the break, as they are allowing 3.4 goals per game in 15 played. They are also traveling across the continent to play Buffalo tonight. The rookie is in the midst of a slow stretch and I am looking for him to bust out tonight.

Value Plays

Jason Pominville (W - MIN) FD: $6,400 DK: $4,800

I love Minnesota's value tonight, going up against a hapless Toronto defense. They have allowed 3.64 goals per game since the break, while Minnesota has completely turned things around scoring 3.27 goals per game since then. Pominville has 12 points in the last ten games, and should continue the hot streak tonight. Mikko Koivu and Charlie Coyle are two other value players to take a gander at.

Leon Draisaitl (C - EDM) FD: $4,200 DK: $4,600

As mentioned with Hall, Philly has struggled staying at even strength, and struggle keeping the goal out of the net. Leon Draisaitl pairs well with Hall playing on his lines, and also possessing multi-point upside. He has 44 on the season, and had two helpers the last time these two teams met. He is at a reasonable cost tonight, and the only concern you might have is the +/- on FanDuel. There is some risk with the Oilers there.

Cam Fowler (D - ANH) FD: $4,400 DK: $4,300

Cam Fowler is a cheap way to get exposure to Anaheim tonight, who are expected to be one of the higher scoring teams come the end of the slate. Fowler has nine assists in the last ten games, and is on a three game point streak. Arizona's ability to keep the puck out of the net is non existent, and their power-play is just as bad. Fowler is a solid value play tonight.
