The revealing of NFL Schedules has been a mini holiday in Spring. Each team has eight home games, and eight away. They also have Bye Weeks, which is one week per team for rest. These can be from anywhere from Week 4 to Week 13. NFL has brought London into the mix over the last few years, resulting some teams to forfeit one of their home games, and go play overseas.
If you have ever wondered how they determine who plays who, it is the same formula every year. Each team will play their division twice, once home and once away. This results in six games already. Then a team plays one game against each team from a division in their own conference. Two of those are played at home, and two are on the road. This rotates every three years. This is also repeated for a division outside of conference as well. The final piece of the puzzle is playing two games against in-conference opponents, determined on where the teams finished in their division. A first place team in one division, would play another first place team in another division. This is how we get our Sunday Night Football games that don't feature in-division opponents, and also our Fox Game of the Week matchups.
Once schedules are released, noting the possible rough stretches of the season, we still can't take a heavy approach to letting it influence on our takes. We saw the NFC East defenses rise to the occasion more than we anticipated in preseason. Analyzing NFL schedules can help set up your fantasy drafts. Focusing in on out of division games will give you an edge on the rest. In division games are a bit predictable for teams to game plan. Out of division games are a different story.

Week 1 Fantasy Forecast
Week 1 presents us with a Le'Veon Bell dream matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Tennessee and Oakland feature two of the young up and coming quarterbacks in the game, and are squaring off against each other. Both Oakland and Tennessee struggled defending the pass. Drew Brees will have a tough task at hand going into Minnesota, where opposing offenses really struggled.

Week 2 Fantasy Forecast
Tom Brady and Drew Brees face each other in the SuperDome, which sets up for a lot of fantasy points. Brandin Cooks also makes the return to his former team. Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers meet again, and if this game duplicates like last years, we are in for a fantasy treat. Dallas, Washington, and Philadelphia all head to AFC West opponents this week, which does not bode well for fantasy production.

Sunday, September 24 | 8:30 PM ET | Dallas Cowboys @ Arizona Cardinals |
Week 3 Fantasy Forecast
Andrew Luck will face a Cleveland Browns defense at home, and should enjoy friendly fantasy production. Seattle's defense might put a damper on Marcus Mariota and the Titans offense. If Carolina's defense plays like last years, Drew Brees should be able to take advantage of the matchup, even on the road. Lions-Falcons could turn into a shootout if the offenses are in fine form.

Week 4 Fantasy Forecast
David Johnson against the San Francisco 49ers? Where do we sign up? Johnson is one of the highest usage backs, and facing off against one of the worst run defenses in football. The Colts come off one of the best matchups in Week 3 and go to Seattle in Week 4. Put a damper on fantasy production from the Colts offense this week. Russell Wilson and company might be the ones to target.

Monday, October 9 | 8:30 PM ET | Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears |
Week 5 Fantasy Forecast
The Giants defense was flying around last year, churning out a top five defensive unit. With Philip Rivers heading to New York, he might find it tough finding the end zone. The Eagles and Cardinals also generate a no fly zone, and these two quarterbacks are close to off limits. The Packers face a Cowboys secondary that did not have an answer to Aaron Rodgers last season. We will see if that holds again.

Monday, October 16 | 8:30 PM ET | Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans |
Week 6 Fantasy Forecast
This week doesn't produce a ton of generous matchups, but the Lions visit the SuperDome again. Last year it failed to generate a ton, but we know these games are always on another level in terms of fantasy production. Lamar Miller gets a juicy matchup with the Browns at home. High profile names offset each other with tough defenses.

Sunday, October 22 | 8:30 PM ET | Atlanta Falcons @ New England Patriots |
Monday, October 23 | 8:30 PM ET | Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles |
Week 7 Fantasy Forecast
Another great quarterback meeting takes place this week, and this time it is with Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees. Eli Manning and Russell Wilson also square off, but the Giants secondary and Seattle road numbers are not generous to Wilson's offense. Tom Brady and Matt Ryan face each other, and this time in a regular season game. It should sit as one of the higher total games on the slate.

Sunday, October 29 | 8:30 PM ET | Pittsburgh Steelers @ Detroit Lions |
Monday, October 30 | 8:30 PM ET | Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs |
Week 8 Fantasy Forecast
A shortened slate takes a few games off the, making this somewhat of a lackluster week for offenses. The Eagles get the 49ers defense at home, which is a prime matchup, while most of the other offenses are sitting with mediocre matchups. New Orleans at home is looking like the only real lock of the weekend.

Monday, November 6 | 8:30 PM ET | Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers |
Week 9 Fantasy Forecast
Another SuperDome game kicks things off with fantasy production, as Tampa Bay heads into New Orleans. David Johnson is also getting a solid matchup against San Francisco. Some NFC East teams draw tough matchups as Kirk Cousins faces Seattle and Carson Wentz takes on Denver. Houston might be taking a step back defensively this year, so Indy might not be in that bad of spot.

Monday, November 13 | 8:30 PM ET | Miami Dolphins @ Carolina Panthers |
Week 10 Fantasy Forecast
Your weekly pick on the Cleveland Browns team is the Detroit Lions at home. Pittsburgh's offense heads on the road to Indy, who will have a tough time trying to stop the Steelers weapons. Jacksonville's revamped defense should be even better this year, which has me questioning the likes of Philip Rivers and company.

Week 11 Fantasy Forecast
Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins head into New Orleans, giving both sides a chance for a shootout. This might be the only one we see on the main slate given the matchups. The Raiders and Patriots in Mexico City might affect things based on location and altitude. Baltimore's pass defense can be hit and miss, and I expect them to miss against Aaron Rodgers in Lambeau.

Monday, November 27 | 8:30 PM ET | Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens |
Week 12 Fantasy Forecast
Thanksgiving gives us what should be two high scoring games, and one lower scoring game in the Lions-Vikings. Ben Roethlisberge and Aaron Rodgers headline the Sunday Night Football game, and there is a lot of star power in that one. Marcus Mariota has the Colts defense's number, and is always a quarterback who can go off. Atlanta at home to Tampa Bay sets up their offense with a nice rebound game from the trip to Seattle.

Week 13 Fantasy Forecast
Melvin Gordon gets a hapless Cleveland defense this week and Jordan Howard gets the 49ers. Two high volume running backs in great spots, you do the math. As far as passing attacks in good spots, Seattle, New Orleans, and Green Bay could all put up larger numbers. Oakland, Philadelphia, and Miami are in the tougher spots.

Week 14 Fantasy Forecast
Oakland, Tennessee, and Seattle draw very tough matchups on the road this week, giving me less of a reason to like their offenses. This is another week with lackluster matchups, outside of Green Bay facing Cleveland. If the Titans pass defense is what it was last year, Arizona will be in a good spot. LeSean McCoy can get a step ahead of this Colts defense that was bottom of the league against the run.

Week 15 Fantasy Forecast
DeMarco Murray will face the San Francisco defense making him a premium back. If someone emerges as a top running back for Baltimore, they get a great matchup against the Browns. Drew Brees gets a New York defense that was bottom ten against the pass, and at home, making him one of the best quarterbacks to go after this week. Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger facing off could create a shootout.

Week 16 Fantasy Forecast
Another SuperDome game, and this time against Atlanta. With these two offenses, this is one to get yourself some exposure to. Jordan Howard gets a dream matchup against the Browns, to hopefully round out a solid season. Washington, New York, and Dallas draw tough matchups against top ten defenses. Even with above average offenses, I am not expecting a ton.

Week 17 Fantasy Forecast
Week 17 might have a few games with playoff implications to target, while the rest of the teams have mailed it in. They are all divisional games so keep an eye on who has the battles, and will be playing to win. At the moment, these types of matchups look to all be very low scoring contests, Green Bay and Detroit being the exception. Stay on top of news and study up for this week.
