Each day of the MLB season will bring us some major price differences among starting pitchers on all sites. These price discrepancies and the site's roster differences can alter the way we use pitchers on each site, as well as how the field of opponents will use them. Listed below are five of today's top pitchers, each with their salary listed as well as the cafe value that takes into account both the total salary cap on the site and points-per-dollar. We've also provided some betting info for you reference. The higher the cafe value, the better the points-per-dollar play is.

Jon Lester

Lester, Verlander, Syndergaard, and Felix Hernandez are the "big name" pitchers in tonight's slate. Of that group, I believe Lester has the best combination of matchup, floor, ceiling, and win probability. Playing at Oakland could be viewed as a good thing for Lester, as he shifts to a pitcher-friendly ballpark against a watered-down lineup that traded away their best hitter (Reddick). The price is reasonable on all sites, meaning Lester is an attractive target in all formats. Even though Oakland doesn't strike out a ton, Lester could still provide a strikeout per inning while getting through clean with a quality start.
