Salary: FD: $6,300 DK: $6,400
Ish has been nothing short of tremendous over the past few weeks, and is coming off of his 4th double-double in his last 9 games, after his 20/5/11 game against the Suns. Tonight he faces off against Chris Paul and the Clippers, who have been a middle-of-the-pack team against opposing PG this season. With Tyreke Evans still listed as "doubtful" for tonight, Ish will still have a prominent role in the Pelicans' attack, and with this game listed as the one of the highest totals on the night at 213.5.
Robert Covington (SF), 76ers
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
at HOU | 32 | 0.88 | 20.8 | 25.7 | 43.92 | 94 | 28 |
Salary: FD: $5,700 DK: $5,100
Remember this guy? Covington was a popular play in the latter stages of last season, and he is once again looking like a viable option at a weak SF position. He has done it all over the last 3 games, with totals of 35.5, 32.5, and 45 DK points. Despite shooing just 4-16 against Boston, he managed to hit the double-double bonus and 45 DK points. He has attempted 23 3-pointers in that span, which only adds to his GPP upside at DK. Given his current price tag, he has an enormous ceiling.
Terrence Jones (PF), Rockets
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
vs PHI | 30 | 0.89 | 18.6 | 20.5 | 45.35 | 104.5 | 30 |
Salary: FD: $5,700 DK: $5,900
Jones is the perfect GPP target on a slate like this one. He has had a very low floor recently (10.5 DK points in 19 minutes last game). However, the 76ers have had defensive issues down low, allowing the most FP to opposing PF this season, and Jones has big upside with his ability to block shots. He has 3 games in his last 9 with at least 32 DK points, and he is the garbage time-extraordinaire. Even if this one gets out of hand, we may see some Jones action late. The matchup is tremendous, but due to his volatile nature, he is best listed as a GPP-only option.
LaMarcus Aldridge (PF), Spurs
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
at DEN | 32 | 0.99 | 15.6 | 24.9 | 43.46 | 102.5 | 34 |
Salary: FD: $7,800 DK: $6,800
As you probably know by now, targeting big men against the Nuggets is a winning proposition more often than not. They are allowing the 4th-most FP to opposing PF this season, and if LMA sees some time at the 5 with Tim Duncan out (rest), he can take advantage of a team that is allowing the 2nd-most FP to Centers over the last 5 games. I expect Aldridge to take on a bigger role tonight with no Duncan or Ginobili, and his price on DK is just too good to pass up. He has been somewhat volatile this season with Kawhi Leonard emerging as the #1 option, but tonight is a perfect spot for LMA.
Hassan Whiteside (C), Heat
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
at NY | 30 | 1.39 | 17 | 21.8 | 43.94 | 94.75 | 40 |
Salary: FD: $8,500 DK: $8,300
Whiteside owns enormous upside every time he steps onto the court. He is leading the league in blocks by a wide margin, and has the potential to reach value on just rebounds and blocks alone. The Knicks are allowing the 5th-most FP to C over their last 5 games. Whiteside isn't a big usage player, but is averaging nearly 40 DK points per game despite playing just 29.3 MPG. He will face off against Robin Lopez down low, who is known more for the damage he inflicts on mascots than the defense he plays.
Eric Bledsoe (SG), Suns
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
vs GS | 35 | 1.17 | 19.6 | 28.2 | 37 | N/A | 38 |
Salary: FD: $8,500 DK: $8,400
With everyone flocking to Brandon Knight due to his phenomenal play recently, swerving to his teammate Bledsoe is a great move in GPPs. Bledsoe still owns a usage rate of over 28%, and has the ability to post monster lines as well. Just consider the fact that you can roster a player who averages over 40 DK points per game at an ownership rate that is very unlikely to be over 10%. While Knight is a great play in his own right, Bledsoe is the perfect swerve in what will be a perfect up-tempo game against the undefeated Warriors.
