I'll highlight my top plays for GPP action to help you find those high floor players. Be sure to check out our minutes tool, and Colossus lineup optimizer.
Projections show DraftKings fantasy points.
Vegas Notes
- Highest scoring game on the slate is the Thunder-Wizards matchup, totaling 222 points.
- On the other hand, the Jazz-Bulls (193) and Hawks-Mavericks (198) are both under 200.
- The Spurs should have no problem handling the Magic, so Pop may be inclined to give the regulars some extra time on the bench if the game gets out of hand.
GPP Picks
Cory Joseph (PG), Raptors
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
@Nuggets | 24 | 0.71 | 25.5 | 16.3 | 52.3 | 106.6 | 17.04 |
Salary: FD: $3,900 DK: $3,900
Russell Westbrook, Kyle Lowry and John Wall will likely find themselves in many lineups tonight, making Joseph a quality GPP selection. His ownership should be relatively low and the price tag will allow you to get another elite player in your lineup. Joseph continues to play over 20 minutes per game for the Raptors off the bench, and he has produced over 20 fantasy points in each of the last four games. It's also worth noting that he dropped 27 fantasy points earlier this year against the Nuggets, so he has a great chance to reach—and exceed—value.
Bryce Dejean-Jones (SG), Pelicans
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
Grizzlies | 33 | 0.74 | 20.5 | 14.6 | 41.1 | 102 | 24.4 |
Salary: FD: $3,500 DK: $3,9000
Your usage of Jones in your lineup(s) is strictly dependent on the status of Tyreke Evans. If Evans is unable to play tonight, Jones is useful in both GPP and cash game lineups. He's averaging 35.5 minutes over the last two, surpassing 20 fantasy points on FanDuel in both contests. The matchup isn't ideal, seeing as the Grizzlies are pretty stout against opposing shooting guards, but for the price, it's hard to go wrong. Once again, if Evans plays, Jones is not worth rostering at all. Monta Ellis is another good quality play at the position.
Rudy Gay (SF), Kings | |||||||
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
Bucks | 34 | 0.94 | 20.7 | 22.8 | 43.3 | 109 | 31.96 |
Salary: FD: $7,600 DK: $6,800
Gay is a quality play on a nightly basis, but if DeMarcus Cousins is unable to play, Sacramento's small forward becomes an elite play. When Cousins isn't playing, Gay's usage rate jumps to 29.3 percent. In those games without Boogie, Gay has averaged 17 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He has surpassed 30 fantasy points, on FanDuel, in each of his last three games and should be able to do the same tonight. If Cousins doesn't play, Gay is a lock at the small forward position in your lineup(s).
Anthony Davis (PF), Pelicans
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
Grizzlies | 37 | 1.29 | 25.3 | 28.4 | 48.2 | 102 | 47.7 |
Salary: FD: $10,100 DK: $9,800
Davis is undoubtedly one of the premier talents in the NBA, however, he is extremely susceptible to injury. Last time out Davis dropped 20 points and corralled 16 boards, showcasing the type of player that he is. Yes, he comes with a high price tag and an injury risk, but keep in mind he is the only player in all of basketball to rank in the top three in scoring, rebounding and blocks. He should easily surpass 40 fantasy points tonight, making him a solid GPP or cash game play. However, due to his fragility, he's better suited for GPP lineups.
Boban Marjanovic (C), Spurs
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
Magic | 18 | 1.47 | 25.2 | 26.6 | 44.3 | 109.25 | 26.46 |
Salary: FD: $3,700 DK: $3,700
At a pretty deep center position, Marjanovic is a boom-or-bust play this evening. The Spurs are expected to blow out the Magic, and if that were to happen, we should see plenty of Marjanovic. He is a point-per-minute machine and should be able to put up numbers in this matchup. Marjanovic recorded a double-double in just 17 minutes against the Houston Rockets and did the same in 22 minutes against the Phoenix Suns. Roster the big man and hope for a blowout in San Antonio.
