Vegas Notes
Top Picks
Kyle Lowry (PG), Raptors
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
vs PHX | 36 | 1.17 | 20.5 | 27.3 | 42.69 | 104 | 42.12 |
Salary: FD: $8,600 DK: $8500
Lowry looks like a safe bet today, given he's playing at home in a competitive matchup vs the up-tempo Suns. Phoenix ranks middle-of-the-pack in defending point guards, but volume and tempo should lead Lowry to a sustainable fantasy mark around his 42 FP projection. On a day where point guards seem somewhat shaky, investing in Lowry has it's merits.
James Harden (SG), Houston
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
at NYK | 38 | 1.34 | 18.6 | 34.4 | 37.07 | 101 | 52.26 |
Salary: FD: $10,700 DK: $10200
Shooting guard is pretty uninspiring tonight, which has us looking towards Harden as a priority play. On top of that positional scarcity, Harden has a pretty good matchup against a Knicks team that has struggled against opposing wings. This is supposed to be a competitive affair, as Vegas currently has it as a 1 point spread. Be sure to make room for Harden in your lineup, especially on FanDuel where you need two shooting guards.
Paul George (SF), Indiana
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
@ LAL | 35 | 1.34 | 18.9 | 28.6 | 33.73 | 106.25 | 46.90 |
Salary: FD: $9,900 DK: $10100
George has been outstanding as of late, and a matchup against an up-tempo Lakers team could really highlight his strengths. Expect a well-rounded stat line in this dream matchup, as George could really churn out some fantasy upside. The Pacers have the highest team total of the night, and it makes sense to look towards their red-hot star player here.
Kristaps Porzingis (PF), Knicks
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
HOU | 35 | 1.15 | 21.1 | 18.3 | 47.15 | 99.5 | 41.40 |
Salary: FD: $7,000 DK: $7500
Porzingis is still sitting at a discount, as he has been producing like a power forward in the $8000-$8500 range. That bodes well for tonight, as he is matched up against an up-tempo Houston team that ranks among the worst in fantasy production allowed to opposing power forwards. The positional scarcity makes this decision even easier. Click him in.
Andre Drummond (C), Pistons
Opponent | Minutes | Fantasy Points Per Minute | Defensive Efficiency Rating | Usage Rate | Opposing Fantasy Points Allowed | Vegas Team Total | Projection |
@ BKN | 35 | 1.31 | 20.2 | 25.5 | 48.49 | 98.75 | 45.85 |
Salary: FD: $9,300 DK: $8900
Drummond is probably more of a tournament pick tonight, as James Harden and Paul George both take priority over him as expensive options. Still, there's no doubt that Drummond is the top overall Center within this game slate, as he's looking at a solid matchup against a Nets team that doesn't have anyone to counter him on the glass.
Value Plays
Bismack Biyombo (C - TOR) FD: $3,600 DK: $4600
Biyombo is a value Center option that helps you fit in guys like Harden and Paul George. He really has no offensive game to speak of, usually only taking one or two shots. All of his fantasy production comes from rebounds and blocks, which he particularly excels at. In this competitive, high-scoring matchup with the Suns, there should be plenty of rebounding chances for Biyombo to hit value.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (SF- BKN) FD: $4,100 DK: $4700
Hollis-Jefferson has been a revelation for the Nets, as he fills a rebounding void that hindered this team early in the season. His game translates to almost every matchup, as he's a double-double threat with a penchant for steals and blocks as well. On tonight's shorter slate, Hollis-Jefferson is another great value candidate to help you fit the aforementioned studs ... It should be noted that Hollis-Jefferson is listed as a shooting guard on DraftKings.
D'Angelo Russell (PG - LAL) FD: $5,100 DK: $4900
Russell is priced as if he were still seeing only 21-25 minutes per game. The Lakers have much more confidence in their rookie now, letting him see 36+ ,minutes and assume majority of the ball handling responsibilities. For that reason, Russell is a solid "price play", with a great probability of hitting value based on mintues/volume alone.
Thaddeus Young (PF - BKN) FD: $6,400 DK: $6900
Thad Young isn't necessarily a deep value play. Actually, he's only marginally cheaper than our top play of the position, Kristaps Porzingis. Still, I believe he's a very solid pick for this price point, as he has been extremely consistent over the past few weeks. The only reason his price is this low comes from a spotty start to the season plagued by blowouts. Take advantage here.
