With just three games on tap tonight, you're going to need to make some tough decisions with your superstars. I'm rolling with Durant up top, as he is the top SF option on the board by a wide margin. He is coming off one of the most efficient games of his career against Memphis (11/14 shooting 32/10/6 in just 31 minutes), and tonight he faces a Hawks team that he had no issues with last time out (51.5 FP on November 30). He is head and shoulders above the rest at the position, and I'll be paying up for a superstar in the game with the highest total on the board.

If you've been reading these articles for the past month or so, you know that I've been the biggest fan of Thad Young in all formats. Tonight he once again finds himself in a great spot to meet and exceed his salary (although is has been rising) against the 76ers. He has at least 30 FP in 12 of his last 13 contests, and now faces a 76ers team that is allowing the most points to opposing PF in the entire NBA. For an additional narrative, we have the "revenge game factor" against his old team, although he has already faced them 3 times when he was with Minnesota. The "revenge" narrative here is in jest, but Young does make for a fine high-floor, solid upside play on tonight's short slate.

Salary: FD: $7,500 DK: $7,100

Of course we would all love to have DeMarcus Cousins in our cash game lineups tonight, but that will be no easy task if you're looking to spend up elsewhere. My favorite midrange option is Jordan. The Bulls are allowing the most offensive rebounds per game to opponents at 12.6 per contest, and Jordan ranks second behind only Andre Drummond with 82 offensive boards this season. He will see big minutes against the Bulls frontcourt, and should be able to easily add to his running total of 11 double-doubles on the season in this matchup, all at a sizable discount from DMC.

Salary: FD: $8,200 DK: $7,500

While I much prefer his price on DK, Butler is the top SG option across the board, and it isn't close. As mentioned above, this game has the second-highest total on this small slate, and Butler brings a tremendous floor and high ceiling to the table. He didn't earn the nickname "Jimmy Minutes" for nothing. You can lock Butler into 37-40 minutes and move on. His floor is around 35 FP, and if his shot is falling, nobody would be surprised to see him approach 50 in a close game tonight.

Projection

vs NYK

361.1021.819.846.4106.7539.60

Salary: FD: $8,400 DK: $8,500

Rondo is enjoying a career renaissance in Sacramento, and per StatMuse, he is actually scoring more FPPG when DeMarcus Cousins is on the floor. He'll face off against the Knicks and their inferior backcourt tonight in a game with the second-highest total on the slate. He is the ideal floor/ceiling combo tonight if you can't afford Russell Westbrook in your lineups. Expect him to flirt with a triple-double once again tonight.

Value Plays

Omri Casspi (SF - SAC) FD: $4,600 DK: $5,300

Casspi continues to be a solid value play with upside, and although I'm not in love with his DK price, you'll be hard pressed to find many other viable values on tonight's small slate. He is coming off a 19/10/4 game against the Jazz, and while that is much closer to his ceiling than his floor, he has shown that he does have that upside. I'm targeting as many values as I can in the the high total games (SAC-NYK, OKC-ATL and LAC-CHI).

Joakim Noah (C - CHI) FD: $4,600 DK: $4,500

The Bulls will need to match the Clippers' size down low, and Noah is one of my favorite value plays to fire up on short slates. He can stuff the stat sheet in a hurry, even when he only plays around 20 minutes in a game. He has at least 24 DK points in 5 straight games, and provides value at a position that is very top-heavy tonight.

Thabo Sefolosha (SF - ATL) FD: $4,400 DK: $4,900

Thabo will once again square off with his old team, and once again draw the tough task of guarding Kevin Durant. In their first meeting, he played 39 minutes, posting 26.5 FP despite not scoring a single point. He is invaluable to this Hawks defense, and I expect him to have a big role in this matchup once again.

J.J. Redick (SG - LAC) FD: $4,200 DK: $4,000

Redick followed up one of his worst shooting performances of the seaosn (1/9 at Minnesota) with one of his best (11/18 at Milwaukee). He'll see plenty of Jimmy Butler tonight, which is less than ideal, but he is cheap and will see plenty of minutes/opportunity. He is the best scorer of the value plays at SG tonight, so he gets the nod in a game that Vegas projects as a dead heat.

Butler seems like a must play on this slate with shooting guards being so light.
