Welcome back to the Optimal Lineup post for DraftKings.

Week 8 was a chalk nightmare as many of the payers with the biggest price tags, best matchups, or both failed to meet value. This sunk many of mine and I know thousands of others. Mike Evans, Julio Jones, Spencer Ware.

Hopefully everyone did a straight swap of Davante Adams for Ty Montgomery and his late scratch last week as well.

Last week was simply not a good week for the optimized lineups, my lineups or many DFS lineups in general. So many injuries, or as I mentioned above chalk play disasters that unless you went with Derek Carr and Amari Cooper/Michael Crabtree you were likely struggling.

This week the Patriots are on a bye so players like Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are off the board. David Johnson is another notable stud who is on bye this week.

This week is filled with more injuries, value plays and fantastic matchups. Let's dig into this and see what the Optimizer gives us shall we? Keep tabs on Theo Riddick who should be a full go this weekend and is in most of the lineups and has the good old red “Q". The longer that stays the better if he is a go as it definitely impacts ownership percentage.

This lineup has high upside receivers who are value picks while it is loaded up on the Running back position. Theo Riddick facing the Vikings defense can be a little risky, but he is such a dynamic pass-catcher that he will likely still meet value due to his PPR strengths.

Aaron Rodgers appears to be fine throwing the ball 50 plus times now, and has been cranking out the Fantasy points over the past few weeks. This game is projected to be a high scoring affair and Rodgers is sure to be a safe and popular play this week.

The Chiefs DST will be a very popular one as well facing the Jaguars who give up sacks, and of course have Blake Bortles at QB who is sure to make some mistakes as well.

Davante Adams has become a target hog in Green Bay with 11, 17, and 25 whopping targets last week. He converted that into 20 catches and 157 yards in Week 8! He may not see as many this week if Montgomery returns, but he has been a safe bet the past four weeks.

Kenny Britt like Adams has also been a huge component of the Rams offense seeing 35, 31 and 14 targets over the past three. Not nearly the amount of receptions as targets, but this shows he is one of the best weapons in this offense and this week the Rams will be in need of offense against the Panthers.

The GPP optimized lineup is very similar except it swapped out Kenny Britt for teammate with a higher ceiling Tavon Austin and Michael Thomas has been replaced with Stefon Diggs.

Diggs will be working with a new offensive coordinator, so I expect the Vikings to be trying new looks, shorter drops and passes. All of this can benefit the shifty Diggs.

While Britt has been targeted more we all have seen what Austin can do if he gets the opportunities. He is a big play-maker and has been quiet lately. I think the optimizer is on to something here.

At the tight end position Jack Doyle has been plugged in and faces the Packers who are definItely vulnerable to tight ends and wide outs. Doyle will certainly be in the red-zone and as we have seen is one of Luck's favorite targets down there.

The Packers are the stack of choice this week and this game should be a high scoring affair. In what Vegas is predicting to be a 54 point affair. The Packers ending up with 30.5 points can only mean good things for Rodgers and the Packers.

Going largely without a running game Rodgers has been throwing the ball a ton, and there is no reason to see this changing this weekend against the Colts who will be scoring plenty as well.

Jordy Nelson has been plugged in alongside Davante Adams and this makes sense as the top 2 receivers in targets over the past 3 weeks in Green Bay. They will be getting theirs.

Good luck everyone!
