As conference play starts to heat up, I wanted to take a look at how the defensive rankings in the ACC. The ACC has two of the top defensive teams in the country in Boston College and Florida State.
Team | GP | Yrds/G | Pass Yds | Rush Yds | Int | Pts/G |
Boston Coll. | 4 | 118 | 288 | 184 | 3 | 7.8 |
Florida St. | 3 | 256.3 | 349 | 420 | 2 | 10 |
Duke | 4 | 261 | 591 | 453 | 4 | 11.5 |
N.C. State | 4 | 205.8 | 625 | 198 | 3 | 12 |
Clemson | 3 | 260.7 | 438 | 344 | 5 | 12.3 |
N. Carolina | 4 | 342.3 | 454 | 915 | 4 | 14.8 |
Miami (FL) | 3 | 310 | 501 | 429 | 7 | 17.7 |
Syracuse | 4 | 357 | 1020 | 408 | 5 | 19.5 |
Wake Forest | 4 | 294.3 | 580 | 597 | 0 | 19.5 |
Georgia Tech | 4 | 314 | 639 | 617 | 5 | 20 |
Louisville | 4 | 347.8 | 702 | 689 | 9 | 22 |
Pittsburgh | 3 | 291.7 | 599 | 276 | 1 | 23.7 |
Virginia Tech | 4 | 375.3 | 680 | 821 | 6 | 26 |
Virginia | 4 | 445.3 | 1141 | 640 | 0 | 38.3 |
Some numbers that really jump out at me is how bad the defenses from the teams from Virginia have been. Traditionally Virginia Tech lead by Bud Foster has one of the top defenses in the country. Unfortunately for us fantasy players Virginia is on a bye week and we are not able to pick on them this week.
