FanDuel Optimal Lineups: NFL Week 5

After one of the lower scoring weeks on the season, I am building for week 5 on FanDuel, with no filters. This lineup features the cash game projections.

Phillip Rivers is one of my favorite mid-value plays this week, and he frees up a ton of space for a balanced lineup. He has had a fairly safe floor this season, and we saw the ceiling last week. The RB duo should be a popular play, especially Bell, but six touchdowns in the last two games for Freeman will boost his ownership, despite a fairly tough run matchup against Washington. However I like his work in the passing game, and being in such a dynamic offense, he should thrive again.

For the first time, Julio Jones does not find his way in the cash game lineup, which I am find with, due to the balance of the core. Jeremy Maclin will face a poor Chicago defense, and seems to have been unleashed in the KC offense. I am also looking for Jordan Matthews to have a bounce back week against the Saints, and it seems the passing attack is where the points will come from in Philly. Even in a down week for the Cardinals offense, Fitz put up a decent line, kind of encouraging due to an offense that didn't click.

While I love Martellus Bennett, I might drop him down if Alshon Jeffrey plays this week, even though I like all the Bears' passing game.

Cairo Santos Lol.. He will not kick seven field goals again, but the Chiefs should be driving the field plenty of times against this defense.

Love the Giants value play, and Colossus does too, big upside at home against a bad 49ers offense, who are also turnover prone.

Now using GPP projections, there are a few tweaks, which include dropping down Phillip Rivers to Alex Smith, which is a nice GPP swerve, because of how bad the Bears defense is. There are really a lot of targets in this game. Colossus upgrades Maclin to Julian Edelman, which is an upgrade, but I like pairing a wideout with Maclin.

What I would do is switch one of the other wideouts to Edelman. The other switch is Jason Witten, and the Cowboys should be chasing this game from the start, he is a sleeper tight end in my opinion.

Maybe I am crazy but I don't see Freeman this week. You don't beat the Redskins on the ground you beat them through the air. I also said that last week about Freeman though and look where that got me.

I am with you there, Skins have a tough run defense. I find myself paying up for Bell and Charles both.

In agreement here guys. Not even sure if I'll have any Freeman exposure in GPPs. Tevin coming back hurts his prospects as well. All the Bell/Charles for me where I can. I'm looking at Gurley and Dion Lewis as other cash game RB options also.
