Quarterback

QB Opp Ownership % DK Salary FD Salary
Cam Newton @ Saints 17 $7,400 $9,000
Ben Roethlisberger Colts 7 $6,600 $8,100
Andy Dalton @ Browns 6 $6,400 $8,000
Tom Brady Eagles 5 $8,000 $9,400
Jay Cutler 49ers 4 $5,100 $7,000
Ryan Fitzpatrick @ Giants 3 $5,200 $7,500
Carson Palmer @ Rams 3 $6,700 $7,900
Eli Manning Jets 2 $6,500 $7,600
Russell Wilson @ Vikings 1 $5,600 $7,800
Derek Carr Chiefs 1 $6,200 $7,700

Nothing shocking about Cam Newton topping this group, and he's my favorite play at the position. I'm completely floored by Russell Wilson's ownership rate. Sign me up for him on some GPP rosters. I'm also digging the ownership rate of Carson Palmer, who could be leaned on more heavily with the team almost certainly turning to David Johnson as their starting running back this week. Finally, and more on this to come, Eli Manning looks under owned facing a Jets team that will probably be without Darrelle Revis this week.

Running Back

RB Opp Ownership% DK Salary FD Salary
DeAngelo Williams Colts 24 $5,600 $7,200
David Johnson @ Rams 15 $3,400 $5,900
Jonathan Stewart @ Saints 15 $5,300 $7,200
Doug Martin Falcons 13 $5,900 $7,600
LeSean McCoy Texans 9 $5,700 $7,800
C.J. Anderson @ Chargers 8 $3,500 $6,800
Adrian Peterson Seahawks 8 $6,600 $9,100
Chris Ivory @ Giants 7 $5,900 $7,100
Thomas Rawls @ Vikings 6 $5,400 $7,000
Buck Allen @ Dolphins 6 $5,400 $6,800
Matt Forte 49ers 6 $6,900 $7,600
Devonta Freeman @ Buccaneers 6 $8,000 $9,000
LeGarrette Blount Eagles 5 $5,100 $6,900
Darren McFadden @ Redskins 4 $5,300 $7,300
Jeremy Hill @ Browns 2 $4,800 $6,600
Jeremy Langford 49ers 2 $5,300 $6,400

Differences in pricing between FanDuel and DraftKings will result in some ownership differences between sites, and it starts with Adrian Peterson. I fully expect AP to be owned on 2.5-3 times as many rosters at DK given the stark contrast in pricing as well as the FLEX spot on DK. C.J. Anderson will probably see at least double the ownership on DraftKings, though, I still love him against the Chargers. I should also add, I love AP at DraftKings even at a higher ownership rate there. His price is too hard to ignore. Doug Martin is one of my favorite backs this week, and his ownership rate does nothing to deter me from using him on a bunch of rosters. The Buccaneers are tough on running backs, and gamers are taking notice, as Devonta Freeman's ownership rate indicates. Still, at his low ownership rate, he has a chance to be a game-changing GPP pick due to his touchdown scoring ability, pass catching skills and talent as a runner. He's game-flow proof.

Wide Receiver

WR Opp Ownership% DK FD
Alshon Jeffery 49ers 23 $6,900 $7,700
Antonio Brown Colts 21 $8,600 $9,000

Allen Robinson @ Titans 9 $7,300 $8,000
Jeremy Maclin @ Raiders 9 $5,200 $6,500
Brandon LaFell Eagles 9 $4,800 $6,600
T.Y. Hilton Steelers 8 $5,700 $7,300
Eric Decker @ Giants 7 $6,300 $7,200
Sammy Watkins Texans 7 $5,600 $7,000
Brandon Marshall @ Giants 7 $7,100 $8,100
Martavis Bryant Colts 7 $5,600 $6,900
Jarvis Landry Ravens 6 $6,700 $7,400
Michael Crabtree Chiefs 6 $6,500 $6,600
Larry Fitzgerald @ Rams 6 $7,400 $7,300
Amari Cooper Chiefs 6 $6,900 $7,000
Danny Amendola Eagles 5 $4,700 $6,700
DeAndre Hopkins @ Bills 5 $8,800 $8,900
Kamar Aiken @ Dolphins 4 $4,800 $6,100
Mike Evans Falcons 4 $7,300 $7,900
Demaryius Thomas @ Chargers 4 $7,200 $7,600
Emmanuel Sanders @ Chargers 4 $6,500 $7,300
Doug Baldwin @ Vikings 3 $3,800 $6,200
DeVante Parker Ravens 3 $3,300 $5,200

Holy cow! What are gamers doing? How in the world is Odell Beckham Jr. only the fourth highest owned wide out with Darrelle Revis likely out this weekend? He'll be locked into all of my rosters now, GPP teams included. No one is sleeping on Alshon Jeffery facing a bad secondary for the 49ers, which is a bit of a bummer, but it's not enough to pull me down off of cloud nine after seeing OBJ's ownership. Antonio Brown is arguably the best receiver in the game when Big Ben plays, so his ownership rate shouldn't come as a shock. His upside is immense, and that keeps him in play in GPPs even as a chalky pick. Gamers are shying away from DeAndre Hopkins after a bad showing in a cushy matchup with the Saints, and now's a great time to jump back on him at such a low ownership rate. No, the matchup with the Bills isn't ideal, but Hopkins is matchup proof, just ask Darrelle Revis. The wide receiving duo of Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper will be facing the most giving defense to wide outs this year, and I'm digging their ownership rates. Sign me up for using each, but especially Cooper, in GPPs. I'm shocked Doug Baldwin is owned on under 5% of rosters after two big games in his last three, and a monster showing in his last game. Add in the absence of Jimmy Graham, and I would have expected him to be rostered at a far higher clip. At DraftKings, I do expect his ownership rate to be at least 4-to-5 times as high since he provides more salary relief there.

Tight End

TE Opp Ownership % DK Salary FD Salary
Greg Olsen @ Saints 27 $6,400 $6,600
Scott Chandler Eagles 13 $2,500 $5,300
Delanie Walker Jaguars 11 $5,700 $6,000
Jordan Reed Cowboys 9 $5,300 $5,900
Julius Thomas @ Titans 7 $4,000 $5,800
Travis Kelce @ Raiders 5 $4,700 $6,200
Gary Barnidge Bengals 5 $5,300 $6,100
Antonio Gates Broncos 3 $4,900 $5,900
Kyle Rudolph Seahawks 2 $3,700 $5,100

Greg Olsen should be the highest owned tight end facing the most giving defense to tight ends this year in terms of fantasy points, and he is the highest owned tight end. I'll still be hooking him with Cam on some rosters and rolling with him solo on others. Scott Chandler will be owned on at least twice as many rosters on DraftKings given the difference in salary. He's a nice red-zone threat, but I'll pass on him in GPPs. In cash games, he's a great punt with upside. Julius Thomas is lower owned than I expected off of his big game, and with Allen Hurns' status up in the air, I'm really loving Thomas in GPPs. Finally, Kyle Rudolph's ownership is silly low for a guy who's seen a huge spike in usage recently and facing a defense that hasn't had any answers for tight ends this year. Get some shares of Rudolph.

Defense

DEF Opp Ownership % DK Salary FD Salary
Bengals @ Browns 14 $3,400 $5,100
Patriots Eagles 10 $3,400 $4,800
Cardinals @ Rams 8 $3,900 $5,400
Redskins Cowboys 6 $2,300 $4,400
Broncos @ Chargers 6 $3,400 $5,300
Bears 49ers 6 $2,600 $4,400
Chiefs @ Raiders 3 $3,000 $4,700
Texans @ Bills 3 $2,500 $4,900
Seahawks @ Vikings 3 $3,600 $4,800
Vikings Seahawks 1 $2,600 $4,500

The Bengals are the chalk, and they'll be the chalk at DraftKings, too. No argument from me. In fact, the two biggest favorites, a pair of double-digit favorites, sit in the top two ownership positions (hi, Patriots). You can probably double or triple the ownership rate of the Texans at DraftKings, where they haven't gotten the memo about how good J.J. Watt and company have been of late. The Broncos are the best pass defense in football, and no team passes the ball more than the Chargers. It's going to feel an awful lot like pushing a boulder uphill for Rivers this week, and I'm loving the Broncos.

Hey no problem Josh!! I expect with the Revis news, OBJ ticks up some ownership. Kamar Aiken and Davante Parker both very cheap value wideouts went overlooked here. Hoping LeSean McCoy stays fairly low owned this week.

Thanks for the breakdown Josh!
