Evening Cafe,

Was looking for some thoughts on some players/teams this week.

Antonio Brown: Probably the biggest question of the week. I feel like Vick is getting a touch more credit than deserved as far as his projection. Do we really see Brown getting 20 points this week? I think a major reason he pulls off such great weeks is in part due to Ben's accuracy.

Le'Veon Bell: Which brings me to my next question. I love the idea of using Bell as Tomlin will likely want to control the game at his pace. I also like that he catches the ball since Baltimore may pressure Vick to make mistakes. Is he worth the price tag? Im worried the Ravens pull ahead quickly diminishing his usage.

Jamaal Charles: I see he is a Tier 1 play on the cheat sheet. He usually doesn't disappoint. I'm more just curious how Cafe decides him to be Tier 1 with the Bengals not allowing a rushing TD this year and being top 5 in rushing defense. Also, after lasts weeks performance of less then 50 yards rushing by the Ravens.

Derek Carr: I have a feeling he will be a more popular play this week then we realize. Do I have any justification in this or just a tin foil hat theory?

Julio Jones: If he ends up out this game due to injury, do I avoid Atlanta receivers?

Chargers: Do I like Woodhead this week? And by 'Do I like' I mean 'Do you'.

Just some thoughts/questions I had for this week guys. Thanks!

Question

Let me try and answer your questions best I can.

1. Brown is the most consistent wide out in the NFL but is probably only a GPP play with the unknown of Vick this week. The Ravens have been eaten alive through the air this year so it may be worth the risk. Keep in mind just because there is a game on Thursday does not mean you have to play players from this game. It is perfectly fine to fade the game completely if you like better match ups.

2. Bell is the best all around back in the league and always worth a look. This is a week you can find great value at the running back position so just keep that in mind.

3. The Bengals do have a tough run defense but Jamal Charles is match up proof. He has averaged the most yards per carry in NFL history. He also catches the ball out of the backfield. That is why he is Tier 1.

4. Jones will play he is on the injury report every week for the same thing. Do not worry about it but for the .00001% chance he does not yes you avoid Atlanta receivers.

5. I like Woodhead this week especially on sites like DK with full PPR but there are other value plays I like a bit more. Woodhead is not a cash game play for me but perfectly fine for GPPs.

I think Brown is too expensive for the risk. Michael Vick was unprepared when he needed to come in for the Jets last year and I think he is playing to get a paycheck at this point. He probably figured he had even less of a chance to play in PITT.

Charles is somewhat matchup independent because of his role as a receiver but you can certainly take your observation into account. Keep in mind it could have some fan bias included there. But the Bengals are better on defense this year and will be game planning around Charles obviously.

I think David Carr will be played more than realized and I also think he has a low floor and a high ceiling at this point. 2 games of outperformance is not enough to make him a cash option for me yet... despite a terrible Bears defense. But anything can happen in the NFL obviously and it looks good on paper.

I don't think Julio is on the injury report, if he is its probably the same thing as last week. You will hear about it if Julio is having trouble.

The Woodhead/Gordon sitch is getting harder to predict. Maybe include one of each in 2 lineups?

These are just my opinions of course and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Thanks Zach!

Also, as a warning, the hurricane could postpone or delay the Eagles game. I think for most sites delays result in forfeiting that players points so keep an eye on it.

Being from VA and having to deal with hurricanes every year I would be shocked if it was postponed or delayed. They rarely make it that far up the coast but weather will still be bad regardless.

To touch on Bell real quick, his usage is so consistent no matter the score of the game. That is one of the things that makes him such a safe play. I agree with Zach on all the value at RB.

My QB's are Tyrod Taylor, Aaron Rodgers, and Derek Carr. The Raiders are building a lot of buzz, but deservingly so, Bears defense is so bad.

My one knock against Taylor is he doesn't have a real target to pair up with him. I guess Charles Clay for a cheap tight end, or Percy Harvin. Neither compare to Amari Cooper or Randall Cobb.

Once again agree with Zach, Charles is just so good, and Kansas City knows how to use him to the opponents weaknesses.

Woodhead for GPP, not cash.
