This may be the most eventful week in baseball so far, as I am watching Bartolo Colon head into second base with an stand-up RBI double. The Red Sox should take a look at Colon, he can help in the pitching and hitting department. Two major league debuts occurred this week, and the Yankees tee off on Jeremy Guthrie's Memorial Day meatball. As always, we are taking a look at trends from week-to-week, and the Pirates as a collective unit were DFS gold. Their staff had six wins, and posted a 1.87 ERA. The offense averaged 5.8 runs per game, and hit over .300 as a team. Welcome back Buccos.

May Dong Breakdown

It is the end of the month, and you know what that means, it is the dong breakdown! There have been 817 dongs hit this month, and that total will climb, given it is early Sunday morning. May brought 200 more dongs than April, as expected the weather heats up, and the dongs start to fly. The most dongs came from the state of Texas, as the Astros and Rangers combined for 81 dongs. Atlanta was on the other end of the table, with a measly 12 dongs.

Bryce Harper is your dong leader at 18, and is on pace for 58 dongs. His longest dong sits at 452 ft. Giancarlo Stanton had one of the most impressive stretches of dongs in a short time. First he hit one out of Dodger Stadium(467 ft.), and then crushed two in Miami (474 ft, 475 ft.). The one thing that has remained unchanged from April, is Alex Rodriguez still holds the longest dong this season. Stanton did have the longest May dong, with that 475 ft. shot. The smallest dong goes to Allen Craig, off C.C. Sabathia on May 1st, with just a 326 ft. distance.

Mike Napoli gets an honorable mention, with four dongs in three days. Even pitchers were getting in on the dong action, Madison Bumgarner and Noah Syndergaard launched two mammoth dongs.

Jeremy Guthrie and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

If you stepped outside to command the grill on Memorial Day, you likely missed Guthrie's start. He allowed four home runs, and 11 earned runs in the first inning, you may be shocked, but he did not return for the second. Stacking a team is always hit an miss, and the Yankees had one of the most successful stacking days of the season. Colby Lewis tried to duplicate Guthrie's numbers later in the week, allowing nine earned, but he threw 2.2 innings.

Dongaldson... Josh Dongaldson

I am sorry, but the A's trading Josh Dongaldson to Toronto for a bag of peanuts has been the greatest move for DFS. We got him out of the coliseum, and into the Rogers Centre, where he is hitting .375, with 10 homers. He hit .385 this week, with 5 homers, and homers were a trend for third baseman this week. He is hitting a whopping .474 against lefties, and is in 100% of my lineups.

The Hot Corner

Dongaldson transitions us into what was an epic week for third baseman. There were 36 home runs hit by third baseman this week, averaging about 5 per day from the position. Take a look at the hot corner dongs this week. Josh Donaldson 5, Nolan Arenado 4, Todd Frazier 3, Kyle Seager 3, Alex Guerrero 3, Kris Bryant 2, and hell even Will Middlebrooks had 2. The list carries on, Juan Uribe and Brett Lawrie chipped in with a few.

Young Guns

Noah Syndergaard, Lance McCullers, Eduardo Rodriguez, Nate Karns, Chi-Chi Gonzalez, the list goes on for rookie starters this season. They have been more successful in DFS than not. Under the radar, Chris Heston has made himself fantasy worthy out in San Francisco. With a success rate of these guys, they have ventured into GPP land, who had the plums to start two major league debut guys this week?
