The purpose of this column is to highlight some players with upside and well-suited for tournaments. While the majority of the hitter picks will likely have power upside, that's not necessarily the case for all the listed options. Other contextual factors such as batting order, ballpark, opposing pitcher, price, speed, etc also come into play, and you'll see these items sprinkled into the write-ups below. Along with that, we'll be gauging the ownership levels, giving you some plausible pivots from the popular choices in a given game slate.

When i look at this slate, I see a bunch of offenses to attack, and not many pitchers I really like. There is one that I do like though, and it's Sean Manaea. Manaea has a high K rate, and is playing in a great ballpark tonight for pitchers. There's no one that scares me on this Mets offense outside of Cespy and Flores, so I like his upside here. Weather could be a factor, so we'll have to monitor that, but $6,600 on DK is just ridiculous.

It's almost hard to go wrong with Charlie Blackmon against a righty. Now throw in the fact that he's playing in Coors Field, and gets a match up against Chad Kuhl who struggles against lefties, and it seems like the perfect fit. The one problem I have here is not with Blackmon, but the rest of the offense. I think he is a fine one-off here tonight, but his upside is limited due to the rest of the team. Kuhl is very good against righties, and that's what the Rockies throw out there. Blackmon is still a great play, but outside of him and Parra, I'm not touching these Rockies.

Anthony Rendon is quite possibly my favorite hitter on this slate. Anthony Randa has been called up from AAA to start this game, and the Nationals in Chase field is a tough task. Rendon has been mashing left-handers all season, and I really like him to do so here against Randa. Rendon will be my highest exposure player on this slate, and for good reason.

Marcell Ozuna is easily having his best season in the majors. Ozuna is 8th in the MLB in runs batted in, and has solidified himself as a cornerstone to this Miami franchise. He is a very streaky player, and is red hot at times, and ice cold at others. I like him to break out of his slump tonight against hard throwing right-handed Robert Stephenson. He is my HR pick of the night, and should be low owned due to his price tag.

It's kind of hard to find value on this slate, but I think Chris Herrmann does exactly that.Tanner Roark is great against righties, but absolutely terrible against lefties. Herrmann has a lot of power, and this ballpark plays to his strengths. I'd really like to see him leadoff, but the lower he bats in the lineup, the lower his ownership will be. I will be going cheap at catcher all night (also Ramos and Mesoraco), and love Herrmann to do well in this spot.
