For the first time in a long time, Tom Brady does not make my top cash game pick. I just could not overlook Philip Rivers this week. Rivers leads the league in passing attempts and is second in yards per game with 337. That number ranks him exactly 1 yard behind Tom Brady in that category. What really stands out for me and why I am so high on Rivers this week is the Chiefs defense. Let's not over react to their one week against a very injured Peyton Manning and look at what they have done the whole season. They are allowing the second most fantasy points per game to wide receivers and 244 passing yards per game. They are also allowing 21.7 points per game. The Chargers are going to pick up yards in this game, score some points and they will not being doing it on the ground. If I am paying up for quarterback this week, Rivers is one of the first names I will be looking at.

Cam Newton may have the highest floor of any quarterback in DFS. That is due to one thing and one thing only, his elite running ability. He now has 366 yards on the ground and 6 touchdowns to go along with his passing numbers which are not shabby. Through the air, he is averaging 226 yards per game and has 15 touchdowns on the season. He faces off against a very beatable Washington defense and I am willing to bet that Newton has his 4th straight game with at least 19 fantasy points.

Derek Carr has been downright amazing the past four weeks. He is averaging 306 yards per game and over 3 touchdown passes during that stretch. He has not scored below 19 fantasy points and gets a great match up against a weak Lions defense. The Lions allow the 3rd most fantasy points per game to the position and 260 passing yards per game. The give up points in bunches and are only above the Saints in that category with 29 per game. In a game that I have being a shoot out, I fully expect Carr to light it up once again.

For a little bit less in salary you can have Derek Carr's counterpart in Matthew Stafford. While Stafford may not have Carr's floor, he has just as much upside and has the better matchup. The Raiders have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL and if it wasn't for the Saints would be in the argument for worst. They allow the second most passing yards per game with 293 and allow 26.8 points per game. They especially struggle to defend passing attempts near the goal line as evidence by their league leading 10 touchdown passes allowed to tight ends. With as bad as the Lions run game is, Stafford will be forced to throw the ball and I could easily see him throwing for 300 yards with a couple of scores.

I couldn't just leave Brady off this list. He has just been too good this season to be ignored. League leader in passing yards. Check. League leader in touchdown passes. Check. Averaging most fantasy points per game at the position. Check. I could go on forever about how good Brady has been this season, but I will just leave you with one number to remember when making your lineups, and that number is 28.24. That number just happens to be the number of FanDuel fantasy points Brady scored on the Bills last time they faced each other, and I would not be shocked at all if he beat that number this Monday night.

Matt Ryan get's a great matchup but is priced high for what his production has been this season. He has only surpassed 20 fantasy points one time and has 12 scores on the year. He is playing better recently with back-to-back 300-yard games. The Colts defense is not very good. They rank 28th in passing yards allowed per game with 279 and are allowing 25.2 points per game. With Ryan's up and down season, despite him playing better I cannot trust him in cash games at his price. I especially hate him on DraftKings where he is the third highest priced quarterback this week.

Jay Cutler is a name I will be looking long and hard at this week. He has been playing fantastic football and has 6 straight weeks with at least 17 fantasy points. Since he has come back from injury, Cutler is averaging 283 yards passing per game and has thrown for 11 scores. He has even added a rushing touchdown in that time frame. He face a tough Denver defense that still ranks in the top 3 in almost every defensive category but has really struggled the past two weeks. Cutler is still cheap across all sites and worth a flier.

How can you have a quarterback column and not talk about the elephant in the room, Brock Oswelier. Brock, as you all know by now, will be getting his first start in place of the legend Peyton Manning. Brock looked decent in relief against the Chiefs and has a strong arm. With a full week of preparation against a very beatable Bears defense, with the talent he has at wide out, Oswelier has a ton of upside. Oh yeah, he is also very cheap on all sites and offers you great roster flexibility.

I'm all over the trio of Brady, Newton and Carr this week. I might even use min. salary Mark Sanchez at DK. He averaged around 275 yards passing per game and 10 yards rushing per game in Chip's offense last year.
zachsgotmoxy
I like Sanchez but for $400 more on DK give me Stafford going against the awful Oakland secondary.

Love Newton in cash this week, he just consistently gets it done, also on board with Carr!
