The last Sunday of the first half is upon us, and Max Scherzer is capping off his amazing first half with another gem against Baltimore. He has not gotten much recognition, but how about Zack Greinke with a 1.39 ERA at the all star break. Lets recap our leaders here at the break.

AVG - Miguel Cabrera .350

HR - Giancarlo Stanton 27 - Yes still even with missing time.

RBI - Paul Goldschmidt & Nolan Arenado 69

SB - Billy Hamilton 44

W - Gerrit Cole 13

ERA - Zack Greinke 1.39

K - Clayton Kershaw 160

Ghost Man On Second -- No That Is Billy Hamilton

Billy Hamilton can't hit the ball, but he sure can run. This video gives a ridiculous look into how fast he is, as well as the fact nobody really pays attention at baseball games. The ball is barely in the pitcher's glove, and Hamilton is on third. He has 44 stolen bases on the season, and is easily on his way towards 80+ at this pace. I was just poking around the record books for most stolen bases in a season, to realize Billy Hamilton is from the past.

Do You Like To Do It Yourself?

The Mets offense has been awful this season, which is putting extra pressure on the pitchers to provide their own run support. We saw Steven Matz have a multi-hit game just two starts ago, Noah Syndergaard went yard early in the season, and now Matt Harvey is getting in on the action. New York has an 86 wRC+ on the season, and the starters are just sick of it. The entire staff has a run support of under four.

Jose's Back...

Is Jose Fernandez on a pitch count? The Reds are a pretty good offense, he isn't ready for cash games just yet. --- Oh yes he is. He has a 16% swinging strike rate over his first two starts, and I mean how can he not with a pitch like that. He threw seven scoreless innings against the Reds, and struck out nine. He was under $10,000 on both sites, and it will be unlikely he goes under again.

Sunday Fireworks Courtesy Of Kirk Nieuwenhuis

Who is going to deliver the fireworks on the final day of the first half? Mike Trout? No. Bryce Harper right? No. Kirk Nieuwenhuis goes yard three times against the Diamondbacks. He had 44 DraftKings points, and 18.75 FanDuel points. He came into the day hitting .106 with just seven hits on the year. Well done Captain Kirk, and when we say Rubby De La Rosa struggles against left-handed bats, take our word for it.

Standout First Half DFS Performance

There was a span of time where Bryce Harper was simply unstoppable, and was nearly a must play this season. He had a three game span - eight hits, six homers, and 12 RBI. He had 45 combined FanDuel points in those three games, and on DraftKings he had 106 combined fantasy points. I am talking about the month of May, he had 13 homers, and hit .360. He crossed into a true elite price range, which would of made you question if you were building NBA lineups. He is hitting .341, and has 26 homers on the season.
