Summer is here, and you know how I can tell? I am looking at games with combined 15+ runs. Take those groundball pitchers, or watch out for the dongs. It has been three consecutive recaps where Chris Sale has struck out double digit batters in a start. Max Scherzer has almost gone perfect over two starts, and will face the Phillies next time out. If he throws a complete game shutout, then a no hitter, it is only logical to assume he throws a perfect game. These two have been by far the two best DFS pitchers this season. Who gets the nod between the two for you? I am curious.

A Chocolate Syrup Shortage

Max Scherzer was flirting with perfection yet again, but fell just short, as Jose Tabata took one off the elbow on the final out. Lets date back to last Sunday, when Scherzer was cruising into the seventh inning, when Carlos Gomez blooped a single to end the perfect game. He still struck out 16, and threw a complete game shutout. Scherzer was on pace to throw a perfect game in under 100 pitches, which just would of added to his dominance. Over the last two starts, three baserunners, 26 strikeouts, 18 innings, and two wins. He also tacked on two hits, showing some offensive game.

There has been an anonymous petition going around the clubhouse to end the chocolate syrup celebrations. Although the identity of those who started the petition was not a secret, it was the cleaners, the blue collar men behind the scenes, who keep the clubhouse running. Max Scherzer took the select people into the dugout, it was muggy and dark. A voice spoke and said "there will be chocolate syrup celebrations," and he ripped the petition into pieces. The cleaners couldn't see his face, but one swore he had one blue eye and one brown. The pieces were never put together on who ended the petition.

I Was At A-Rod's 3000th Hit Game. Oh Yeah? Well, I Had Him In My DFS Lineups

Revenge games, record setting games, bobblehead nights, it doesn't matter, it needs to be added to your daily research. In this case it was a record setting game, and even though Justin Verlander has been lit up by right-handed bats, some of us played Rodriguez for what he was chasing. We see commercials or articles of people who collect epic pieces of baseball history. I am going to frame my lineups and remember the days I had those players in my DFS lineups. The sites need to mark those lineups, just so we can guarantee authenticity.

Cole Hamels, Aaron Harang, Jeff Francoeur

It has been a rough season for the Phillies and their fans, but they are greatly appreciated in the DFS community. Three out of the five pitchers they trot out become stack targets each week, and each game we insert opposing pitchers as possible options. It has become quite sad, but that is life. It is only a matter of time before Jeff Francoeur is inserted into the starting rotation. He is the Phillies' third best pitcher. Look at him on the release, and the presence on the mount is similar to one Clayton Kershaw.

The Todd-Father

Five homers for Todd Frazier this week, and he is in the race with Giancarlo Stanton and Bryce Harper. He has 23 dingers on the season, and is hitting .293 this season. He has the seventh best hardball rate in baseball, and he is outperforming and performing with some of the top names in baseball. Frazier has a 3.8 WAR this season, which is just a shade under baseball's golden boy, Mike Trout. He has also perfected the bat flip with this bad boy, on a walk off grand slam against the Tigers.

Funky Cold Martinez

There is something about Sunday slates and the Detroit Tigers. Sundays are usually when Miguel Cabrera puts on an epic performance, or a Tigers' stack actually hits. They have a powerful offense, but don't breakout until Sunday. This Sunday it was J.D. Martinez who provided the fireworks in the Bronx, with three dingers, and six RBI. He popped 48 DraftKings points, and the other Martinez, Victor, had 28. They were moderately under owned facing Masahiro Tanaka. Video game numbers.
