Top-Priced Dingers
Anthony Rizzo, 1B, Cubs
DraftKings Salary | Opposing Pitcher | 2013-2016 ISO Vs. LHP | Opposing Pitcher HR/FB%(2016) | Opposing Pitcher GB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher HR/9 (2016) | Park Factor HR | Projected Lineup Spot |
$5,000 | Adam Morgan - L | .181 | 14.3% | 36.1% | 1.77 | 1.17 | 4 |
GPP Ownership Estimate: 10%
I like Rizzo here mainly because he probably will be low owned since this is a lefty-lefty matchup. Rizzo has been human this year against lefties, but was phenomenal last season with a .383 wOBA and .178 ISO. This year, his average and wOBA are significantly lower, but he does hold a .220 ISO against lefties this year. If the Cubs hit him hard, Morgan probably won't last long, and Rizzo could also see multiple at-bats against righties.
Nelson Cruz, OF, Mariners
FanDuel Salary | Opposing Pitcher | 2013-2016 ISO Vs. RHP | Opposing Pitcher HR/FB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher GB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher HR/9 (2016) | Park Factor HR | Projected Lineup Spot |
$4,200 | Trevor Bauer - R | .244 | 11.8% | 47.4% | 1.03 | .86 | 4 |
GPP Ownership Estimate: 15%
Cruz has found his groove again, hitting homers in back-to-back games, and three of his past four games. He hasn't done his best against righties this season, as he has just a .170 ISO. However, Bauer has struggled his entire career with a 1.08 HR/9. Safeco isn't the best place for home runs, but Vegas is expecting this to be an extremely high scoring one. With the way that Nelson Cruz is hitting, he should be able to contribute to that high run total.
Mid-Priced Dingers
Eric Hosmer, 1B, Royals
DraftKings Salary | Opposing Pitcher | 2013-2016 ISO Vs. RHP | Opposing Pitcher HR/FB% (2015) | Opposing Pitcher GB% (2015) | Opposing Pitcher HR/9 (2015) | Park Factor HR | Projected Lineup Spot |
$3,400 | Mike Wright - R | .168 | 16.7% | 41.9% | 1.65 | 1.22 | 3 |
GPP Ownership Estimate: 20%
Hosmer's price is incredibly low right now on DraftKings. You would think he's facing an ace starting pitcher like Corey Kluber, but alas, he's facing Mike Wright who has a 1.86 HR/9 against lefties this year. He's allowed five home runs over his past two games and just hasn't been an effective pitcher at all. Hosmer has a nice .218 ISO against righties this season.
Evan Longoria, 3B, Rays
FanDuel Salary | Opposing Pitcher | 2013-2016 ISO Vs. LHP | Opposing Pitcher HR/FB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher GB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher HR/9 (2016) | Park Factor HR | Projected Lineup Spot |
$3,800 | Robbie Ray - L | .224 | 18.8% | 45.2% | 1.42 | 1.06 | 3 |
GPP Ownership Estimate: 25%
He's hit five home runs over his past four games, including two yesterday. He has a .222 ISO this season and has hit two home runs against lefties. Longo has also been better on the road, hitting nine home runs away from Tropicana Field. We've seen Chase Field be a great source of runs and home runs this season. Ray has given up four homers over his past three starts and has a 2.19 HR/9 at Chase Field.
The Long Shot Dingers
Jeff Francoeur, OF, Braves
DraftKings Salary | Opposing Pitcher | 2013-2016 ISO Vs. LHP | Opposing Pitcher HR/FB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher GB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher HR/9 (2016) | Park Factor HR | Projected Lineup Spot |
$2,700 | Christian Friedrich - L | .98 | 4.3% | 49.2% | .42 | .86 | 4 |
GPP Ownership Estimate: 5%
Francoeur isn't really a good hitter unless he gets to face a lefty. He's only hit two home runs this year, but both have come against lefties. Although Friedrich only has a .42 HR/9 this season, he has a 1.10 HR/9 for his career. Against righties, Friedrich has a 1.20 HR/9 in his career. Although this game is at Petco Park, we've seen an enormous amount of runs at this park recently.
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B, Dodgers
FanDuel Salary | Opposing Pitcher | 2013-2016 ISO Vs. RHP | Opposing Pitcher HR/FB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher GB% (2016) | Opposing Pitcher HR/9 (2016) | Park Factor HR | Projected Lineup Spot |
$2,900 | Tyler Chatwood - R | .205 | 10.7% | 57.6% | .78 | 1.04 | 4 |
GPP Ownership Estimate: 10%
The huge power that once Gonzalez possessed is now gone. However, Gonzalez still has a .128 ISO against righties this year. His last home run came over a week ago. Tyler Chatwood has been good this season, but he's been pitching way above his skill level. He's due to regress, and the way that this Dodgers team is hitting all around, Chatwood could get really roughed up. If Gonzalez comes up with runners on base, he could see some good pitches to hit over the fence.
