Starting Pitcher - Five Stars

1- Felix Hernandez

2- Zack Greinke

3- Max Scherzer

Analysis: If I could give the position more than five stars, I would. Tough cuts include Jacob deGrom, who would likely crack the top three on many nights facing a Brewers team that ranks in the bottom third of the league against righties and is no stranger to striking out. Perhaps the toughest cut, though, is Danny Salazar. Salazar leads qualified starters in strikeout rate (37.2%), and frankly it's not close. He's also walked just 3.9% of the batters he's faced and is the proud owner of a 2.93 FIP. Heck, even Jesse Chavez is a nice play as a betting favorite with a low over/under total at home.

Greinke is the bigger betting favorite, but I'm willing to sacrifice a bit there to rank the more talented Hernandez atop the list. That's not a slight against Greinke, but rather a testament to how damn good King Felix is. He ranks ninth in strikeout rate (27.2%), sixth in K-BB% (22.8%) and 14th in FIP (2.83) with a gaudy 59.8% groundball rate ...

Brantley's strikeout rate is insane, one of the safer high priced guys out there. Great stuff, I feel like I can pick names out of a hat tonight and be safe.
