Starting Pitcher - Two Stars

1- Jake Arrieta

2- Mike Wright

3- Edinson Volquez

Analysis: It is an ugly night for pitching, and the top arm stands head and shoulders above the rest. Beyond the top three, Rubby De La Rosa makes for an interesting GPP option due to his ability to strike batters out at a high rate (22.0% strikeout rate) and the Cubs propensity for strikeouts against righties. John Lackey is a talented enough arm, but the Royals don't strike out often and are one of the best offenses in baseball against righties, so while some may feel inclined to use him, I'd advise against it. Michael Bolsinger is a big favorite, and while he lacks a high ceiling, he has the feel of a low-risk, medium reward selection as an SP2 at DraftKings or as an alternative to Arrieta if you're just chasing the win and a quality start without many strikeouts.

Jake Arrieta is far and away the top pitching choice tonight. If he's in tier one, the next closest arms are in tier four. There's a huge gap between him ...

Like the Bogaerts recognition, lineup spot has always turned me away.
