Toronto comes into San Jose as underdogs tonight, as expected, but Toronto has been playing better. 6-3-1 in the last ten games, and Jonathan Bernier has been a big part of that. He has won of six of his last ten games, with a 2.61 GAA. He has been much better, given the six goals against the Islanders inflated his recent stats. This is definitely a bold call, given Bernier's massive struggles at times. He has won the last three games, and let in a combined three goals in that span. San Jose has been scuffling a bit of late, making Bernier a sneaky cheap play tonight.

Max Pacioretty has enjoyed Brendan Gallagher back on the line, with six points in the last five games. Pittsburgh has been an above average defensive team this season, which should keep many off the Montreal offense tonight. Either way the top line has been producing, and Gallagher should be on your radar as well. The top line also skates as the top power play unity. Montreal has scored the 6th most goals per game, and will sit behind Nashville, Tampa, and Dallas still where the casual players will target.

Patrice Bergeron (C), Bruins

Always under-owned, Patrice Bergeron, will skate with the top line, as David Krejci is on the shelf. Bergeron has an elite 2.84 points/60, and has eight points in the last ten games. Bergeron also plays on the road, registering 14 points in 17 games. He has two multi-point games in the last four games, and will have a matchup to notch another. Ottawa has allowed the 5th most goals per game, and have the 3rd worst PK%. Berge has two power play goals in two games against Ottawa this season, and is a nice mid-priced center, with multi-point upside.

Nikita Kucherov (W), Lightning

The Triplets line is back and rocking, and it is about time. Nikita Kucherov will be somewhat chalky tonight, but still will be in plenty of my lineups. He has 13 points in the last ten games. Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat are his line-mates, and are both in play as well. Tampa's offense is starting to come alive, and Vancouver should keep the train rolling. They have allowed 9th most goals per game, and have the 8th worst PK%. Even on the road tonight, I am liking the Tampa second line.

Nazem Kadri (C), Maple Leafs

Another second line guy in a great spot tonight is Nazem Kadri. 11 points in the last ten games, as he skates with the second unit. San Jose's defense is no bueno, allowing the 6th most goals per game, and Toronto is a sneaky offense tonight, despite heading out west. Kadri has a point in four straight games, and is generating a very solid 11.8 shots/60. Great price for him tonight, especially if you are working a more balanced strategy.

Value Plays

David Pastrnak (W - BOS) FD: $3,200 DK: 3,800

David Pastrnak was recalled, and played 17 minutes with the Bruins' top line. Skating with Bergeron and Loui Eriksson is a big bonus for Pastrnak, especially at these prices. He is a great bare-minimum play to go with tonight, especially against this Ottawa defense.

Eric Staal (C - CAR) FD: $7,200 DK: $4,800

Tyler Bozak is $4,800 on FanDuel, and is your cheaper center option, as Eric Staal is underpriced on DraftKings. Stall gets a great matchup against Columbus, as two of the poorer teams in the league meet tonight. Staal has seven points in the last ten games, and a first line center at $4,800 is a steal, who also plays on the first power play unit.

Ryan Ellis (D - NSH) FD: $4,900 DK: $4,000

I am not in love with many defenseman tonight, but Ryan Ellis caught my eye as a cheap play. He plays on the second line, as well as the second power play unit. He has five points in the last ten games, and has two or more shots on goal in nine of the last ten games.
