The Chalk

Name FD Salary/Position DK Salary/Position Estimated Ownership
Jamie Benn $9,400/ LW $8,000 / W 17-22%
Tyler Seguin $8,600/ C $8,500 / C 20-25%
Patrick Sharp $7,200 / RW $6,000 / W 12-17%

If the Stars are playing you can bet this line will be one of, if the the most, popular lines to stack on any given night. They are terrorizing the league, and Seguin returns to Boston to face his former club with some extra motivation. As much as we like to think these athletes are robots and expend the same energy every night, I think Seguin will always have added incentive when he plays the Bruins. They played last night in Toronto, connecting for Benn's league leading 10th goal of the year, and would have had a few more if not for James Reimer standing on his head. Seguin and Benn both average over 5.5 FPPG on Draftkings, making them the safest cash game plays in the game. The thing I love about all three of these players is their willingness to shoot the puck. Last night, they combined for 18 shots on net, albeit against a porous Leafs defense. Along with being great cash game plays, they offer huge upside in tournaments. If you are multi entering in tournaments, I wouldn't be opposed to an overweight strategy here where you stack this line in 20-30% of your lineups. If you're looking for a defenseman to pair up with them, John Klingberg plays on the third best PP in the league with all three and Jason Spezza.

Name FD Salary/Position DK Salary/Position Estimated Ownership
Max Pacioretty $8,700 / LW $7,700 / W 12-17%
Tomas Plekanec $6,500/ C $6,000 / C 10-15%
Brendan Gallgher $5,500 / RW $5,500 / W 10-15%

The Habs get a juicy home match up against the Senators tonight, and are one of my favorite teams to stack for many reasons. This line together has been on fire, and have not been on the ice for a goal against in over 140 minutes played together. That is big on Fanduel where they still think +- is a thing, which is my biggest pet peeve in all of DFS. Montreal has the 6th best power play in the NHL at 23.6%, which is not a good recipe for the Sens tonight. They have one of the worst penalty killing units in the NHL at 75.6%, and have given up a league high 11 power play goals. Craig Anderson being their goalie isn't helping either, as he has struggled lately, and should see a heavy diet of rubber tonight from the Habs. On defense, PK Subban and Andre Markov are top plays tonight as well.

Contrarian Corner

Name FD Salary/Position DK Salary/Position Estimated Ownership
Taylor Hall $8,100 / LW $6,500 / W 5-10%
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins $7,000/ C $4,700 / C 2-7%
Leon Draisatl $3,200 / RW $2,600 / C 0-5%

This newly formed line has looked very dangerous in their short time together. Via puckalytics, in just over 28 minutes together, they've been on the ice for three goals for and none against, with a solid CF% of 53.3%. Drasaitl scored in his first game after being called up from the AHL, and looks to have finally found a home on the top line. Before the Oilers criminally lucked into drafting Connor Mcdavid, it was believed Drasaitl would be the #2 center behind Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Those plans obviously changed, and now he gets a chance to play in an offensive role with less defensive responsibility. All three will see power play time against a Flyers penalty kill that has given up 10 power play goals already this year. This is also the Flyers 4th game in six nights, so the Mcdavid-Pouliot-Yakupov line is also very much in play.

Name FD Salary/Position DK Salary/Position Estimated Ownership
Mike Hoffman $5,600 / LW $4,800/ W 0-5%
Kyle Turris $6,000/ C $6,300 / C 5-10%
Curtis Lazar $3,000 / RW $2,500 / W 0-5%

Hoffman returns to the lineup tonight, but he will be missing one of his regular line mates. Mark Stone received a two game suspension for a head shot, and will be out of the lineup tonight against the Habs. Curtis Lazar moves up to the top line, and is a great play for the minimum price tonight. The Habs are still a great team without Carey Price, but I think this top line is a great contrarian play as many will avoid them due to the assumed tough match up. I expect a high scoring game tonight, and this line should be able to get in on the fun. As always, Erik Karlsson is a great play on D.

Name FD Salary/Position DK Salary/Position Estimated Ownership
Loui Eriksson $5,300 / LW $4,900/ W 3-8%
David Krejci $5,800/ C $5,700 / C 5-10%
Torey Krug $5,400 / D $5,500 / D 7-12%

This will also be Dallas' 4th game in six nights, and the price across the industry for the Bruins skill players is much too low. The Stars are one of the most potent offenses in the league, but they aren't as strong keeping the puck out of their net. The Bruins have the best power play in the NHL right now, and it's not even close. They are clicking at a riduculous 35.3% clip, and the Stars penalty kill is in the bottom half at 78.4%. All three play on the first unit power play together, and Krejci is quielty in the top 5 in scoring so far this year. Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and Zdeno Chara are also solid plays at very reasonable salaries.

Edmonton has so many options to stack with, and they are cheap on DK. Never a night where the Stars stack is not in play.
